TRAs protest anti rape culture event.

Today in Manchester there was a flashmob involving Trafford Rape Crisis performing that amazing Chilean "The rapist is you" chant. twitter.com/TraffordRC/status/1226210010683801600?s=19

Here in case you haven't seen it it is amazingly powerful (not the Manchester one)

It was protested by TRAs waving trans flags organised by Manchester Sisters Uncut who ironically describe themselves as feminists taking direct action for domestic violence services.

I mean WTF were they thinking?

Sisters Uncut have always priorities criticising other women over doing anything positive and proactive. they claim to be fighting for refuges, even though many refuges have asked them not to interfer as more often than not their demonstration are aimed at providing photo ops for lazy journalist. they often do this piggybacking on planned protests by other women groups whose message is then lost.

And yes, as someone said earlier they are fanatical about making sure everyone knows they do not support women's sex based rights because of course trans women are far more worth of support.

And it looks like they really got caught out today as the protest was arranged by Resisters and Make More Noise on facebook, so they warned everyone they would be in danger because terfs would be out and about in Manchester twitter.com/sistersuncutmcr/status/1225077668921708546

So they must have felt really stupid when they found Trafford Rape Crisis was also taking part twitter.com/TraffordRC/status/1226195433417998342

which is why they came up with that stupid comment as if women who work in a RCC dont know the reasons women get raped.

TheBewildernessisWeetabix · 09/02/2020 00:28

As I understand it the current transgender advocacy position is that all women's rights are anti trans and therefore women protesting rape culture is transphobic.

NotTerfNorCis · 09/02/2020 07:08

When you define women by their bodies

So is Anna Coates saying that if we abstract women (and men) into subjective feelings rather than physical realities, rape culture will go away because we can no longer distinguish male from female? Interesting point. I'm not convinced it would work though.

theflushedzebra · 09/02/2020 07:29

How very revealing this has been - so SU are utter women-haters and this is the proof. They just attack women's rights, and women standing up for their rights - women campaigning against rape. Or they were caught out, and are refusing to back down - because anything someone they called a "TERF" must be wrong, and need protesting, huh? The "AnneCoates" character on twitter has been a particularly virulent participant in the TRA attacks on Mumsnet too. Because women talking and campaigning must be wrong. Must be protested.

TheProdigalKittensReturn

Maybe all tweets now

Should be in haiku format

“Rape is transphobic”?

Doobigetta · 09/02/2020 08:06

I think it was the absence of men they objected to. They had some little posters about real feminism being inclusive of penises, or something. Maybe they were worried that their mothers would join, and then who would cook their tea for them?

Lordfrontpaw · 09/02/2020 08:09

Showing their true colours. Only for themselves, not for women, against women. How did this organisation become like this? Who joined and changed the remit?

Lordfrontpaw · 09/02/2020 08:11

Sorry that should be:

Band of young fools
Shouting that only they are
The true creed of fem

Or

Their colours are stole’
From brave women true and strong
Yet they are a lie

aliasundercover · 09/02/2020 09:16

They get all angry

As deep down they understand

That women don’t have dicks

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 09/02/2020 09:24

Oh right, thanks Butterer - how sad that they founded around a legitimate cause and are now... This. The quote about them being "led by" transwomen makes sense sadly. Amazing how women who call themselves feminists can be so blind to abuser tactics and sex based power dynamics. How can they ever hope to accomplish anything when theyre so naive and easily manipulated by thr very people they're supposed to be helping protect women from? And as for "defining women by their bodies" - maybe stop removing all our language so we have to be reffered to as fucking menatruaters and cervix havers! It blows my mind how people can be so aggressive about beliefs they've clearly given no thought whatsoever to.

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 09/02/2020 09:42

This would be hilarious if the subject matter weren’t so awful.

The 🥝’s have info on that Coates twitter account, btw. They allege that AC isn’t a woman, or even a transwoman, just one of the lady lawyer’s aging twink mates’ sock puppets.

ArranUpsideDown · 09/02/2020 09:45

One among many, but a particularly irritating real world aspect of this is that Manchester is one of the worst university cities for sexual harassment/assault and rape.

A third of female students studying at UK universities will experience a form of sexual assault or abuse. And the number of sexual assaults at university has been rising to epidemic levels over the past few years

The Tab has compiled evidence from the last 12 months to show where sexual and violent crimes have been committed in and around your uni towns, using data gathered from police.uk. The map shows incidences of rape, sexual harassment and assault at UK universities.

If you want some context here is why Sisters Uncut have beef with Make More Noise. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/suffragette-city-radio-extra-sisters-uncut-manchester/id1451421153?i=1000447228378

They have a history of counter protesting womens protests as this podcast gives details of their activities against Manchester Resisters Peoples History Museum protest

Lordfrontpaw · 09/02/2020 12:07

Bad people. I’d die of shame if DS hooked up with them.

SunsetBeetch · 09/02/2020 18:00

Sisters Uncut seem rather pleased with themselves. No self awareness.

I think they are butt hurt that the performance piece was all-cunty-women. They think they should’ve been front and centre.

Doobigetta · 09/02/2020 18:42

What DuLang said. Feminism is grate as long as it centres the penis.

TheBewildernessisWeetabix · 09/02/2020 20:23

2nd rule of misogyny: Women saying no to men is a hate crime.
3rd rule of misogyny: Women speaking for themselves are exclusionary and selfish.

I am only here

Women protesting rape culture are protested against... Thus protesters are pro rape culture? Like breaking through the cotton ceiling perhaps?
