Wtf football?

Settled down to watch the news

We have a football match instead

DH says this isn't the final or anything

Wimbledon etc or snooker they tend to switch to bbc2 or similar

WTF is going on?

I am reminded of my childhood when weekend TV was horse racing, grand Prix, football etc wall to wall ( well 3 then 4 channels!) presumably on the basis that men worked all week and deserved to relax at weekend.

News article is gone for a football match? Like I say even Wimbledon switches channels...

I am confused and feel like in 1979 again but even worse.

??? Any thoughts.

But this is how its always been. Nothing new. ..if a cup game/final is shown with possibility of extra time then theres always the possibility things will run later. BBC or ITV when they had it never changed it onto another one of their channels

Not sure why this is a issue or seen as a new thing.
