Is the bush back?

So just watched last night's cha4 show about why women largely now remove all body hair. As a 53 year old - I trim/tidy as routine and bikini wax before holidays. I have in the past had a Hollywood and a Brazilian with a landing strip but that was in my 30s/40s. However, I understand going bare is a young thing. Out of interest - what are you guys all doing with your foofoos? And have any of you encountered judging by men?

Don’t shave anything, never have and I don’t give a fuck what men think.

ItchySeveredFoot · 30/01/2020 13:07

My bush never went anywhere! I suffer from horrible shaving rash and ingrown hairs. I tried a few different things in my early 20's but ultimately decided it wasn't worth it. I use an electric razor to make sure it's not going crazy out of my costume if I go swimming but apart from that I leave it alone. I'm only 30 so definitely not old!
I hope body hair is becoming more acceptable. I have 2 young dds and I'd love for them to not have to worry about any of this. I spent so much time with itchy spotty legs and bikini line because I thought that was how I was supposed to look.
I have been with the same man since I was 18 and while I know he likes less hair down there it doesn't put him off and he accepts it's my decision.

Spare a thought for the homelessness crisis for crabs.

DtPeabodysLoosePants · 30/01/2020 13:14

Well mine is definitely back. I have got my bush whacker on charge though as it's a little wild down there. I used to wax and now I don't. I never liked being bald so kept some, but now I'm keeping most. I hope the bald look disappears forever. I knew a guy who refused sex with his wife until she had a shave. I had a fwb thing with him years after his divorce. I'd never seen porn before him. It was obvious where he got all his ideas and moves from. Yuck.

CatInTheDaytime · 30/01/2020 13:18

Mine never left either. I'm glad there's a backlash against the pressure to be hair-free - while anyone can do what they like, that pressure is porn-driven and it's not really a free choice if you feel you're not attractive unless you embody porn tropes.

In my 50s now and not seeing anyone since ending my LTR, but I never had any complaints. And if I do start seeing anyone they can take it or leave it – bush is staying!

SHAR0N · 30/01/2020 13:21

All the men I’ve ever slept with have pubic hair themselves so are in no position to judge mine.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 30/01/2020 13:29

I'm 53 and mine is Brazilian style. I don't like excessive body hair on me Blush

slipperywhensparticus · 30/01/2020 13:32

I never shaved the Bush 🤷‍♀️ I tried once I hated it it grew back I've not touched it since

You would be lucky if I shaved my legs or under armpits

Moonmelodies · 30/01/2020 13:49

There are so many unshaven women in porn nowadays one could argue the return of the bush is led by porn.

deydododatdodontdeydo · 30/01/2020 14:00

On a (male dominated) forum I lurk on, all the men under around 35yo said they removed all hair.
All the men over around 35yo thought it was ridiculous and ridiculed them for it.
There's definitely an age split with women too.

midclegs · 30/01/2020 14:02

I know women who've permanently removed their pubic hair using IPL. Can't fathom that.

Italiangreyhound · 30/01/2020 14:03

My bush is au naturel!

Re "And have any of you encountered judging by men?" There's only one man in my life, DH, and he's delighted to encounter me with no judgment, thankfully (for him because I'd not be putting up with any judgment!)

ThatThereWoman · 30/01/2020 14:06

ha. I suspect young people have lots of issues to get over before they reclaim their bush.

But my limited experience recently is that men prefer the bush if that's what matters to you. Which of course it shouldn't.

I think there's something very sexy about a full bush myself, but as with most things in my life, I'm very changeable.on this...

OhGodWhatTheHellNow · 30/01/2020 14:09

SHAR0N I tried the 'you first' approach with DH when he was mumbling about anal, now he has bald bits and I'm saddled with a large collection of strap-ons... next time I'll just stick to no.

Beautiful3 · 30/01/2020 14:13

Short tidy Bush here. Used to shave my bikini line regularly but suffered from shaving rash and sometimes ingrown hairs. Husband has suggested I shave it all off years ago. I asked him, " to do yours first, you know like the male porn stars do?!" The silence was wonderful. Cant have it both ways.

Starlink · 30/01/2020 18:59

We both remove ours, mine since 1960's so not influenced by porn.

NotStayingIn · 30/01/2020 19:04

Ohhh I’m glad you’ve started this as I have a question.

Mine seems to grow rather full/long so I shave the bikini line and then trim the rest with scissors.

Now I realise that’s probably quite odd. But how do you keep what you are keeping in some sort of check?

SunkissesBringBackLangCleg · 30/01/2020 19:05

Urgh. Couldn't think of anything worse than wasting time shaving, waxing, plucking, whatever. Life's too short. Would rather read a good book!?Grin

SHAR0N · 30/01/2020 19:09

Well that would explain it. It’s a long time since I had sex with a man under 35.

Craftycorvid · 30/01/2020 19:13

Never went away. Neat and tidy but definitely present.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 30/01/2020 19:17

Natural here too tidied for high days and holidays. Never been an issue but I’m in forties so not the right age group. I’d love to ask my young adult children what they do but that feels weird. They are relatively open so I don’t believe any beauty salon waxing goes on. Could be wrong.
I hate the pressure the youngsters all get so I hope they don’t put themselves under huge pressure.

ClientQueen · 30/01/2020 19:20

35 and I trim/shave edges but that's it. Interestingly it is coming back a lot in art nude modelling, several of the popular models I know have grown a full bush and photographers are still booking them
I've had a photographer once say he wouldn't work with me until I shaved. He's still never worked with me Grin

FrangipaniBlue · 30/01/2020 19:21

I'm nearly 39 and been having everything removed since I was 18; can't see me changing that anytime soon if I'm honest
