So the manager of my local one told me today. She looked aghast when I said I didn’t agree with it then as I started explaining, she had to take a drive through order. We had been chatting about my eldest ds being gay and she obv thought I’d approve of this collaboration. Hah. . I’m thinking of writing down where I stand on it and passing it to her. I take my elderly mum in there every day for a coffee and pastry. Not any more. Sigh. I hate thats it’s made me ‘that’ person

They just lost themselves another customer. I'll be telling people I know too. No one I know wants to support transing kids.

‘With every cookie (bleugh) sold’ I wonder what the is for?

Starbucks might want to concentrate on getting themselves up to third rate before they waste time with this nonsense.

I would boycott them, but then I have been for 2 years since they utter failed in the business of being a coffee shop.

I'd be up for postering toilet doors - if someone creates one/ has a link please PM me!

An old schoolfriend of mine has a child who is now detransitioning. The whole experience has almost broken them as a family and she is extremely angry about the sort of propoganda and pressure circulated by groups such as this.

Reporting from the ground here. The woke cookies are on display in my local Starbucks, with the 50p donation advertised.

I can't see them being popular because they cost 40p more than the much more appetising chocolate cookies they sit next to.

I wouldn't say dark blue icing is particularly child friendly either, I know my DS wouldn't ask for one.

Iced biscuits aren't much of a thing these days are they? The tail shape isn't great either. Tbh I think this one's a non event.

MorrisZapp · 03/02/2020 12:31

The sit in cost is £2.59.

The guts of three quid for a biscuit. There's a Greggs next door where £2.59 will buy you a weeks worth of refined carbohydrate.

I wonder if Glinner will condemn them... or maybe not after his Donkey Kong 'success'.

I think a) not bothering with Starbucks again and b) an email to the CEO explaining why this is a safeguarding fail on their part is the way to go.

They need to sell 200,000 to make their donation and I am sure there are that many trans allies and they will all sell out quickly.

Really? I’d pay 13p, max. I identify my two 5ps as two pound coins and the other 3 pence I identify as 59 pence. No, it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever but when in Rome...

Starbucks planning meeting.

So ya'll, let's do something really cool. Something to distract people from the, ahem, unfortunate tax thing. Let's find the wokest, most vilified lobby group and support it with woke cookies!

So which one shall we support..... let's see
Now who....
Supports and promotes a doctor who's not allowed to practice in the UK?
Trains teachers using offensive gender stereotypes?
Did the most serious GDPR data breach?
Who supports and promotes puberty blockers despite serious concerns there's no evidence they are safe?
Who's own website from 2009 gives the opposite advise to what they promote now?
Who's chief executive took their child abroad for genital surgery on the very day of their 16th birthday?

Why, that would be Mermaids.

YES THEM!!! LET'S SUPPORT THEM. AWESOME. GREAT JOB. WOKE COOKIES ALL AROUND.

What do you mean there's a 4000% rise in girls identifying as trans?? Who gives a shit eh?

Well I’ve just seen a photo of haddock chomping on a tail.

It looks cheap and nasty, also flakey, and odd shade of blue and glittery. Not very nice looking.

...And the biscuit looks unappetising too (boom! Boom! 🦊 )

Things covered in glittery sugar taste of nothing but sugar, imo. Taste the disappointment! Which isn't a bad analogy for Mermaids, really.

Wouldn’t a mermaid taste fishy and a bit salty?

Apparently glitter goes right through you (thankfully) and ends up polluting the ocean. Double thanks Starbucks.

I am raging that Channel 4 is involved in this. Can't help wondering that the commissioning team had nothing to do with it and it was ad sales and corporate who thought it a jolly good idea. This from a broadcaster who did Oly Lambert's Trans Kids doc. They should be investigating mermaids not bloody fundraising for them.

It’s channel 4! I’m sure the investigations will come (like Kids Company and they weren’t even remotely in the same league).

Right that is me changing my weekly bag of coffee and no more hazelnut lattes, goodbye Starbucks.

I'm quite partial to a blonde roast flat white, and Starbucks is the only coffee option at my local train station but this has made me think twice. Fuckwits. It's pure virtue signaling. Plenty of other causes they could have supported ( not as many woke points tho)
