the story of how his trauma was ignored, was fast tracked through the system and positively encouraged to go to Thailand for operations is almost word for word the same as a family member of mine, 20 years ago. Regretted it the moment they woke after the ops in Thailand. Thank fuck he didn’t have vaginoplasy, but the drs in Thailand tried to get him to stay, and have it done, even after he’d already said he regretted what he'd done so far.

Before he went to Thailand he’d go the hospital to for his “counselling” and change from men’s clothing into women’s in the toilets, as did many others who were there, and back again afterwards. And the fuckers told him the hormones would change his sexuality, and he likely start fancying men after a while (spoiler alert, it didn’t)

He’s going to be interviewed by Victoria Derbyshire shortly (as in within the next hour).

As in right now, actually.

I just watched the Victoria Derbyshire interview. He's very clear about how the health service failed him by failing to examine his traumatic experiences as a cause of his desire to transition.

Victoria Derbyshire's reaction was interesting. He was describing horrific things that the NHS had helped him to do to his body, due to previous trauma that they never even asked him about. She was really trying to push her opinion that he was in a tiny minority of detransitioners, using the testimony of a transman who insisted only 1% of people detransition, and a figure of 4% from somewhere else (NHS?)

He was quite clear that there were a lot of people like him who regret their transition, and that it was important to examine things like trauma, particularly when children are involved. She looked a bit worried at this, unsurprisingly since she's been pushing the idea of trans kids for years.

Not on iplayer yet, but should be there in an hour or two.

Why is Derbyshire so biased.

I was just anout to turn it off as find her as a journalist so lightweight but then I saw story

I thought he was so honest about the pain he suffered. And still has.

He had his testicles removed. So now he has no natural testosterone which he said gives him great problems. 80 hours of electrolis

He was very very clear about the need for much more exploration of why a person would want transition not just be affirmed by NHS and set on pathway

Derbyshire didn’t do her sad music and sad eyes for him.

I was impressed by him and what he said and what he had discovered about himself

Victoria Derbyshire show to be axed “out of the blue” apparently. Hmm

GirlDownUnder · 23/01/2020 03:51

What? This particular show or the whole program?

GirlDownUnder · 23/01/2020 03:53

Sorry ignore my lazy arse - I went and looked

"The Victoria Derbyshire show has been axed by the BBC. The current affairs weekday series, hosted by award-winning journalist Victoria Derbyshire, 51, first began in 2015, and is ending because of costs. Media editor at BBC News Amol Rajan broke the news on Twitter on Wednesday"
