In an attempt to show both sides of the GC / self-ID can be vile he takes offence at "Why is it so important to you that men are able to access our facilities? Is it personal?". Why? Because he says such a suggestion is equivalent to calling him a "pervert". So there you have it, agreement that men who want to be in female toilets tend to have a dubious sexual motivation.

Your grandmother is easily stylish and beautiful without any fur stole, Fannycam, I concur. Fur looks so much better on the animal itself.

FannyCann · 27/12/2019 23:49

Aww. theflushedzebra
It's true!

Thinkingabout1t · 28/12/2019 00:06

"Deliberate misgendering of transmen and women will contribute to those deaths and self-harm."

Why do these people get away with the same nonsense, endlessly repeated? Can they hear what they're saying?

OldCrone has the only sane answer: "How does that work then? Is it like "Every Time A Child Says "I Don't Believe In Fairies" There Is A Fairy Somewhere That Falls Down Dead"?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 28/12/2019 00:11

I like to call that the Tinkerbell theory.

JolyonsChickensAreBigots · 28/12/2019 21:03

Wow even the guardian are having a go Shockhttps://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2019/dec/28/jolyon-maugham-qc-was-a-hero-to-many-then-he-beat-a-fox-to-death

TBH I'm actually starting to feel sorry for him then I remember what a dick he's been to women on twitter and the moment passes

theflushedzebra · 28/12/2019 21:45

NO - you can't feel sorry for him. He needlessly killed a wild animal Sad and he's a horrible smug misogynist, who clearly has a bit of a fetish about his wife's kimono.

He's gone all quiet on twitter, and is obvs just thinking he can wait for this blow over, and then act the hero lawyer on factory farming.

I love your name though JolyonsChickensAreBigots Grin

SirVixofVixHall · 28/12/2019 23:56

The more I think about it, the more I feel he may have set out to trap the fox, because he wanted to bludgeon it. Otherwise going out with a baseball bat makes no sense. Foxes run, the only way you can kill one normally is to shoot it, unless you have it trapped. A bat is pointless, it won’t frighten the fox, and you don’t need to defend yourself against a fox as they get away from you.
I think he may have made some kind of trap, hence running out with the bat. The whole thing is deeply weird and creepy. I hate the demonising of wild animals . If a fox takes hens it is the owner of the hens at fault. To kill the predator when predator proof chicken housing is easy to obtain is just blood lust. I say that as a rural person and chicken keeper.
Under that flapping kimono is a very angry man.

JolyonsChickensAreBigots · 29/12/2019 00:09

SirVix you have a point, he has tweeted in the past about buying the baseball bat because of foxes but I hadn't made that next step in my mind probably because I'm not a fox killing misogynistic kimono wearing QC-

I've lost chickens to foxes, it's horrible, I felt guilt not an urge to kill for revenge

JolyonsChickensAreBigots · 29/12/2019 00:10

theflushedzebra thank-you, by the time this stops being topical it'll be time to NC again Grin

quixote9 · 29/12/2019 06:13

If they wanted to be safe, additional third space would be fine. But it wouldn't stroke their egos with how totally, supercallifragialisticexpialidociously womany they are. So, no.

MrsWednesdayteatime · 29/12/2019 09:38

Has anyone got a screenshot of the previous tweet where he mentions getting a baseball bat to protect his chickens? I did search Twitter but couldn't see it, has he deleted it?

To me it feels like his motivation was much more premeditated "pest control" than the humanitarian spin he has put on it.

Really toxic human behaviour Angry

FannyCann · 29/12/2019 09:46

Not sure about when he announced acquisition of the baseball bat but this was his previous attempt at fox battery.

VanGoghsDog · 29/12/2019 10:03

He can't have deleted it, it was screenshotted and sent in many many replies to him. Featured the kimono too! I'll try and find it, I know a friend of mine sent it so it'll be in her tweets.

YellaHumberElla · 29/12/2019 10:12

He has known for weeks and possibly months then, that his hens weren’t properly safe.

And his response is not to buy a proper pen. Or install the correct welded aviary fencing. Or use Twitter to ask how best to deal with foxes.

His response is to purchase a bat.

I think he positively relished the thought of doing harm and wielding power, quite literally, in a violent way that he knew he could get away with.

MrsWednesdayteatime · 29/12/2019 10:30

Thanks VanGoghsDog

Totally sounds like he wanted to kill foxes.

I hope the RSPCA are able to follow through with a successful prosecution

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 29/12/2019 18:38

The earlier tweet definitely makes it sound like both the wife's kimono and the urge to bludgeon helpless wildlife have been part of his fantasy life for some time.

A reasonable person would just get better fencing, That he instead purchased a weapon, and an inefficient one that requires a real commitment to violence to wield, is alarming.

hipsterfun · 29/12/2019 18:56

Nothing useful to add, but how glorious that he was rocking a skimpy kimono and not dad PJs.

I’m sure we all will follow this case with interest.

Happy New Year, Jolyon Grin

FannyCann · 29/12/2019 19:03

Very quiet on twitter.

He's gone to ground, holed up in his den.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 29/12/2019 19:05

What does he think he's communicating with the wife's kimono stuff? Is he going for loveable English eccentric? Because if so, most Brits are rather fond of animals and announcing that you've bludgeoned one to death doesn't come across as cute and quirky no matter what you're wearing.

Also I can't imagine that many wives would be happy to have a garment borrowed by their husband and handed back to them covered in blood.

nauticant · 29/12/2019 19:38

If he'd gone tearing out of the house in his wife's kimono in pursuit of a burglar people would be impressed. As it is, he's coming across as a raging perv with violent tendencies.

VanGoghsDog · 30/12/2019 00:08

A reasonable person would just get better fencing,

And a nice navy flannel dressing gown!

NotTerfNorCis · 30/12/2019 00:54

I think he saw it as a cosy domestic anecdote. How wrong he was.

theflushedzebra · 30/12/2019 18:47

Still no tweeting. This is an unprecedented lack of tweeting from Jolyon.
