I am shocked.

This was my issue with this too, that it was based on belief, insyead of science, and was a far bigger case/implications than this tribunal, but should be a mass legal case for women as a group to seek legal ruling on. The EA is surely based on sex, and sexual discrimination. Law exists on the basis of sex, medical protocols and treatments.

One should never lose their career for speaking the truth, which is essentially whats happened.

You may be using this as an analogy for the closing down of free speech, but this actually does happen. My local independent bookstore was subject to the theft of books written by prominent feminists, and then images shown, on facebook, of them being destroyed.

I felt too depressed to post about the ruling last night.

But, I feel a bit more positive today. The ruling is getting a lot of sunlight and being met with horror and incredulity. Today it is abundantly clear to many, many more people what the GRA requires of people and how it attacks our fundamental human rights to freedom of speech and belief.

This has made it harder for GRA reform to happen, at least in the way that the trans lobby want. It is that bit easier now to argue that the GRA should be repealed.
