I cut up my membership card some time ago over self ID.

But I want to try and be in a position to vote for a new, less woke leader.

I'm not going to re-join yet. No evidence they've learned from the election defeat yet. Or at all. Most still in total denial.

I will think about re-joking after I've seen some signs of green shoots of sanity.

Labours stance on trans rights is about 350th on my list of priorities though. Sorry.

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/12/2019 21:06

Momentum are going nowhere, so they can fuck right off

PencilsInSpace · 14/12/2019 21:11

Labour's stance on women and girls' rights is very high up my list of priorities but I am also holding off until I see signs of the green shoots of sanity.

DuMondeB · 14/12/2019 21:19

I’m still in. Can put rejoiners in touch with GC women organising on the inside.

TiredofthisBS · 14/12/2019 21:21

Like others I'll hold fire for know. Going to watch and wait.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 14/12/2019 21:24

When you say 'organising on the inside' can you be anymore specific or would that endanger what they are doing?

LumpySpacedPrincess · 14/12/2019 21:30

I also rejoined today Smile

TeiTetua · 14/12/2019 21:32

I've seen differing articles saying maybe Labour will feel impelled to push the radicals to the back and make themselves electable again, as in the "New Labour" days. But then other people say that with the structure that the party has, the ideologues are firmly in control and they'd rather be ideologically pure, even if it means they never have power again. And the radicals are the ones pushing self-ID, so that's not going to change. So we'll have to see who comes to the top on that side.

AnyOldPrion · 14/12/2019 21:33

Good luck, brave women!

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 14/12/2019 21:39

Do you still have to have been a member for six months or has that rule changed?

PencilsInSpace · 14/12/2019 21:50

I'm hoping there are more options than just Momentum or some sort of neo-New Labour.

tobee · 14/12/2019 22:00

I just feel too bruised, too doubtful at the moment to join again yet.

Left when Blair didn't do anything about education before the Iraq war having joined in the Foot era (Hmm).

Joined again briefly to try to elect Owen Smith (Confused) and left immediately after!

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/12/2019 22:06

I think the new leader will be Rebecca Long-Bailey

Staffori · 14/12/2019 22:16

I applaud your decision. Unless Labour find someone who might be credible to a broad range of left of centre voters, this country will never again get a Labour MP. Good luck.

TinaBarrow · 14/12/2019 22:47

I'm not rejoining yet... and until one of the party heavyweights has the courage to come out clean and stand up for women, girls and sanity, not ever.

Yes to all of this.

Why does Corbyn have to wait for the NEC to deal with his resignation? Miliband resigned immediately.

HeronLanyon · 14/12/2019 22:51

I rejoined last night.

PhilbricksCat · 14/12/2019 22:53

She is every bit as bad as Corbyn. Until they ditch Momentum and the hard left I won't be re- joining or voting.

birdsdestiny · 14/12/2019 22:54

Not a chance. I dont trust them yet.

Do you really, seriously think being "gender critical" is the top priority for dragging the Labour party back to sanity and making it electable?

Thelnebriati · 14/12/2019 22:56

Labour will have to agree to uphold the Equality Act before I'll think about giving them my money. Its the current law so it shouldn't be hard for them to do that even if they disagree with it.

PhilbricksCat · 14/12/2019 22:58

When you say 'organising on the inside' can you be anymore specific or would that endanger what they are doing?

Yes- organising what? Being gender critical or ditching the lunatic, hard left economic policies?

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/12/2019 23:02

Philbricks I don't want RLB, I want Momentum out, but sadly that's not happening any time soon. I think BJ will be PM for the next 10 years.

sunshinesupermum · 14/12/2019 23:11

They have to ditch Momentum and the extreme hard left first. Labour doesnlt stand a hope in hell otherwise. Corbyn should have fallen on his sword by now. He's an absolute disgrace.

ShesDressedInBlackAgain · 14/12/2019 23:18

I 100% totally absolutely think that ditching its middle class obsession with identity politics and political purity and finding out what its core voters care about is the bare minimum the party needs to do if it is ever going to be electable again.
