The men who attacked the lesbian/bisexual couple who refused to kiss for them are in court today. Stonewall asked for a comment and manage to make it about attacks on trans people. Would it kill them just for once to not mention trans

Agree - completely lesbophobic - perhaps we should ask Stonewall how this relates to transphobia??!! Not a good look for Stonewall. I assume the new LGB Alliance will have a different perspective about this horrendous incident. Can’t think why they are now needed...

Oh my god. I saw this on twitter and thought it was satire / wrong end of the stick. Just for people who don't like to click links the quote in the paper, not edited in any way by me:

What an absolute insult to those women.

Every time I think Stonewall has reached the limit of how much it can alienate such a large proportion of those it is supposed to protect, there it goes again.

The record (showing my age!) is stuck. This crime made the papers and rightly so. Where are these hate crimes where people are getting beaten up left right and centre? Or is it saying let’s talk about women’s rights equals a hate crime?

Surely the Indy must have edited that comment beyond recognition, even Stonewall can't be that tone deaf?

That is bizarre. Not even pretending that they support lesbians now.

Sorry, my post was a bit random. Have been reading a bit of Clive James today as is obvious.

You really couldn’t make this up! But hopefully this means that more people will see what Stonewall is about- and it sure isn’t about supporting lesbians.

I think most people who read it will just assume from the Stonewall quote that one of the lesbians was trans.

The lesbians were even very good girls and called themselves queer as I remember, thereby ensuring the implication that they were definitely absolutely not the naughty homosexual sort.

Mind you Stonewall probably have realised they only have a few more days left before Harry Miller's verdict hits the paper and the UK becomes deeply cynical about what hate crimes means in truth.

I’d be willing to bet that this is a stock comm’s department comment from Stonewall. It is generic, thoughtless and simply regurgitates the same trans related soundbites it uses for everything.
