I have it on good information that the Green candidate in Westminster is the very same guy who a few years ago was advertising that he could enhance womens breast sizes through guided meditation or massage or some other such crap. Apparently he advertised it in the paper!
Maybe your friend can was lyrical on that? why seeing as he is so knowledgable and all.

So for him the distress for a trans person being turned away beats the distress of a women turning themselves away?

More practically,Perhaps you could suggest instead that facilities were provided for transpeople specifically to avoid the distress to all? Could he explain why that wouldn't be best all round? Surely it would be better for transpeople to turn to people who really understand their situation, which I suspect has more complex layers than standard Male on female abuse?
