This might be the article that tips me over into being a regular times subscriber.

Searing article, absolutely spot on.

BovaryX · 13/11/2019 19:24

Thank you for sharing this excellent article. It is well argued, it explicitly identifies the ways in which women’s rights to sex segregated spaces are being undermined. And it highlights the current bullying culture which is silencing any dissent and making the debates which should be imperative impossible. Great piece!

LizzieSiddal · 13/11/2019 19:27

What an amazing piece- thank you Jenni!

NotAtMyAge · 13/11/2019 19:32

Articles of this quality are what keep me paying my Times subscription. Superb!

HandsOffMyRights · 13/11/2019 19:32

Thank you, Jenni. You've nailed it.

This is an act of national cowardice by our would–be leaders, dressed up as high-minded moral superiority. Will any of them think again? While they absent themselves, women are being betrayed.

MockersthefeMANist · 13/11/2019 19:34

JoJo was sparring in a boxing ring today for the cameras. A shame there was no hulking great tatooed girl to knock her block off.

HavelockVetinari · 13/11/2019 19:36

@NotAtMyAge me too! I genuinely only subscribe for that reason!

Uncompromisingwoman · 13/11/2019 19:36

Brilliant powerful article - clear and to the point. The Times subscription has proved to be a worthy successor to my defunct Guardian sub. Just stay away from many of the comments below the line - many tedious woman haters reside there (altho to be fair, the Guardian has the same issues). Their investigative journalism is first rate and their coverage of this has been courageous.

MrsSnippyPants · 13/11/2019 19:41

@jennirsl If you tweet please do go and show your appreciation, because there will probably be a pile on at some point.

TiredofthisBS · 13/11/2019 19:43

Truly says everything I feel (except Stonewall should be mentioned). Thank you Jenni.

Sexnotgender · 13/11/2019 19:46

Fantastic article! So great to see more journalists picking this up.

FWRLurker · 13/11/2019 19:49

Good article. But here’s how the other side will Respond and we should be ready to counter these responses.

  1. “no one is saying that biological sex isn’t important both are important”

  2. “how dare you imply trans women are perverts (Usually followed by racist analogy)”

  3. “cis women are perverts too”

  4. “perverts and criminals will go into women’s spaces anyway”

TinklyLittleLaugh · 13/11/2019 19:51

Great piece and she hasn’t even touched on the issues of the transing of children too young to properly consent or the destruction of women’s sport.

All we need is the information out there and the problems with unconditional acceptance are immediately obvious to anyone.

WaningGibbous · 13/11/2019 20:02

Very well written.

koshkat · 13/11/2019 20:09

Brilliant! But I can see only one (supportive) comment which seems odd.

niceberg · 13/11/2019 20:09

What a great piece. It would be really good to see a series of articles from her on other angles to the issue (treatment of children, sports) while the GE campaign rumbles on.

mcduffy · 13/11/2019 20:11

I've commented but it says pending. Lots of likes for the one comment! What a fantastic article.

littlecabbage · 13/11/2019 20:14

If you are on here Jenni, thank you. Very clear, sensible article.

StandUpStraight · 13/11/2019 20:42

The Times are moderating the hell out of the comments. There will be loads pending. In the meantime the sole commenter is getting a ton of likes!

Well done to the Times for running another article. We now buy the Times every day (DH would like to get the Telegraph at the weekend but I have vetoed that on the basis of the column about the guy who feels like a woman and because I want to support the Times).

Figureof80 · 13/11/2019 21:21

Thank you for sharing that excellent article.

It is the final incentive, along with previous articles from Janice Turner, for me to take out my first online newspaper subscription to the Times.

Lumene · 13/11/2019 21:49

Fantastic article, thank you.

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 13/11/2019 22:25

So pleased to see another Times article setting out the facts on this. Thank You Jenny.

I do wish I didn't feel so grateful to someone pointing out the obvious, but that's how far into the madness we have traveled.

ImGenderfree · 13/11/2019 22:37

Fantastic article and clearing pointing the finger at politicians.

BarbaraStrozzi · 13/11/2019 22:50

Has their modding system been broken by the sheer volume of comments I wonder? Or have they switched comments off after being absolutely flooded? Still just the one comment up, now with 337 "likes"!
