Lib Dems actively deterring GC women

Today I emailed the Lib Dems expressing an interest in joining their party.

I stated no one should receive discrimination or abuse for their transgender status but explained that I am GC and I asked if there was room for GC women in the party.

I received the following response:
Thank you for getting in touch. Whilst we appreciate your interest in joining, you should be aware that the Liberal Democrats are a trans inclusive party, and we have made it clear that we fully behind trans communities. As liberals we champion everyone’s right to live the life they want. By the sounds of your email it appears that your values are not aligned with ours so we are probably not the right the party for you.

I am flabbergasted. I didn't expect that I would have to believe that humans can change biological sex in order to be a member of the Lib Dems.

I am so disappointed. I was going to vote for them in the GE (passionate Remainer) but I cannot if this is their response.

There is no one to vote for. I am lost.

Loopy absolutely I agree. The tone and arrogance of the letter pisses me off however and the audacity to place the needs of biological women below men in writing is staggering.

Why do people find this so hard to grasp?

So Tim Farron can lead the party whilst believing that homosexuality is against the teaching of god, but someone who believes that people cannot change biological sex is not welcome to join.
Very liberal.

No party, no business can be involving themselves in anything that can be spun badly on social media, and they probably don't want members who are going to expose them to that risk.

I wonder if someone might let Janice Turner or Suzanne Moore know. Deborah Orr would have had something to say.

Despite all this crap, I still don’t think Lib Dems are necessarily any worse for women than Labour or the Tories.

This needs to get press attention. If the response wasn't bad enough the 'missing' category as pointed out by Critical just seals the deal.

What is the Conservative stance on this? I am sure they’d shit all over GC women if they thought it meant more votes.

At no point did you state you were aiming to upset discriminate or actively exclude trans people.

It has been mooted for a long time but the Lib Dems just officially confirmed it.

Women mentioning or seeking to preserve their legal rights (like single sex spaces, being allowed to be homosexual, being allowed to have biologically categoried sporting events, single sex HCPs, etc) and even defining themselves as a group based on shared female biology IS regarded as maliciously and intentionally aiming to upset, discriminate against and actively exclude trans people.

Women having rights - or even existing as a biological category - is not only incompatible with the transgender political ideology, but seen as a morally and socially unacceptable offense.

I’m almost at the point where I think Brexit is going to happen regardless and it’s now time to turn my focus to women’s rights which still have a chance to be saved. I have voted Tory in the past but had sworn to never do so again but there’s no way in hell I can vote Labour or Lib Dem. Am in Scotland, but the SNP either seem very good or very bad re women’s rights.

‘It isn’t possible to change biological sex’. This is just stating a fact with which the vast majority of scientists would concur. So are they all unwelcome in the party too? Mind you this is the party that has MPs that can ‘see souls’ and even more remarkably know if they are male or female souls. (Layla Moran). This would be such a good Daily Mail story......

I'm not quite so surprised, as that is their line......their liberalism first principles mean that they prioritise individual liberty above all....and do not seem to be able, or willing, to negotiate the obvious conflicts of interest involved in the transgender ideology. The Liberals are about as bad as it gets in this respect.

They sound like a disappointed teacher talking to a maladjusted teenager ! Tell them their values are well below yours and you’ll be taking your vote elsewhere. And tell them to go and educate themselves 😂😂😂
