I thought the remarks were tasteless and unsympathetic but yet again there was an orchestrated plan to get him sacked so this seems like the right decision.

There definitely appears to be some sort of glitch in the reality matrix. We've crossed streams with Satire World and it's becoming increasingly difficult to predict which stream one will encounter in any given news article.

That Gove interview where he was all "oh it's complicated" about the issue of men in women's fitting rooms - no, actually, it's not. Women's fitting rooms are for women, as are women's toilets. Up until a few years ago everyone knew this, and then our entire political and media class apparently suffered severe head injuries and have been spouting incomprehensible bollocks ever since.

Just imagine if the “cancel culture” people had been successful. In 100 years’ time a historian would be looking back to 2019 and see that a prominent journalist lost his job because he decided he identified as a penguin. A penguin.

Ok I confess I watched Piers this morning.
Interestingly he said I support Trans rights (which he has done on GMB)
He also said - to the extent it's trampling over women's rights.
Suzanna Reid also said this morning - but you can't actually change sex.

This is the beginning of the enlightenment.

The dawning realisation that the desire to prevent trans people from being bullied doesn't work, when bullying is defined as upholding women's rights.

It's the slow understanding that without total and illogical capitulation, you're a bully and a bigot.

And, of course, all it actually does is harden hearts. You end up not wanting to support anybody in anything, 'if they're going to act that way'.
