Oh look, it's those guidelines making no sense whatsoever again!

So, I got an email about a comment in which I said that I wanted to know why genderists keep comparing trans identified males to black women and lesbians being deleted. I think this is absolutely barmy, and have said so to HQ. I'm also baffled as to how this breaks any guidelines and thought perhaps it was time for us as a group to revisit the guidelines and explain once more to MNHQ why they're not working.

What's actually happening here is the the obsessive trans activists who monitor this site are attempting to pick off posters one by one. We lost Orchid last week, and she was just the most recent of many. I'm not sure in MNHQ realize that's happening and welcome it or if it's somehow escaped their notice, but it's a pretty messed up thing for them to be allowing to happen to their users, in my opinion. Are they going to allow this to continue until the only commenters left in this forum are the TRAs who want the entire site shut down?

I know the people who despise the women here would very much like this to all happen under the radar, and that's exactly why I'm not allowing it to play out that way.

The jammy dodger of contempt! Honestly that's just silly.

MNHQ introduced the biscuit as an emoji fgs - then decide that to use it, and just it alone, is suddenly a deletable offence!

How? You couldn't make it up.

MNHQ - if the Biscuit that you put on your website is suddenly worthy, on it's own, of deletion, why is it still here, available for use?

theflushedzebra · 05/11/2019 21:55
Halloween Biscuit
theflushedzebra · 05/11/2019 21:56

(^witches biscuit) When actual terfs sorry, witches, sorry! women use it, it's deleted.

OhHolyJesus · 05/11/2019 21:58

You're right about the strike systems too Prodigal I hadn't thought about it like that til now. Great post. It does need to stop.

BeyondBreakingPoint · 05/11/2019 22:02

That terven biscuit is the descendant of the biscuits they could not burn

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 05/11/2019 22:04

Is anyone who's not a feminist deleted for using the biscuit? Cause if not, again, targeting the feminists and the feminists alone for multiple extra layers of control is not fair and is not a good look for a site aimed at women.

Maybe we all should use the Biscuit and see what happens.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/11/2019 22:22

BiscuitBiscuitBiscuit

ErrolTheDragon · 05/11/2019 22:23

Sorry, that's the Eccentrica Gallumbits one, not a proper biscuiting.

HandsOffMyRights · 05/11/2019 22:25

If we're talking borderline passive aggressive sarcasm, 'Go well' is right up there.

Agreed.

Justine/Mumsnet used "go well" in an email to S. Hayden, don't forget.

Catmaiden · 05/11/2019 22:30

@ErrolTheDragon lol
I do love a good HHGTTG reference :)

theflushedzebra · 05/11/2019 22:39

Justine/Mumsnet used "go well" in an email to S. Hayden, don't forget.

Fuck! That's right, she did. Ugh - so Orchid "how awful for you" is on a par with Hayden - who dragged MNHQ through court proceedings to get the identity of one of their members? Riiiiight. Clearly comparable.

LangCleg · 05/11/2019 22:55

Look, I love this site. At its best it's a brilliant resource for women, and it's full of wit and wisdom and collective knowledge about everything related to navigating life as a woman. But singling the feminists out for constant control at the behest of an activist group who're using the mod team as a proxy in their attempts to punish us for not doing what they want is just not OK and it needs to stop.

This.

What also needs to stop is the endless gaslighting from staffers that it's not actually happening.

Creepster · 05/11/2019 23:05

Someone was deffo deleted for biscuiting Another poster

It was here on FWR.
It is considered a personal attack, I suppose.

MNHQ have stated, and even put in writing, that FWR is not a place for women to discuss Feminism and women's rights if it touches on trans or safeguarding.
On those issues FWR is where women are expected to have a civil debate so that MN can keep up the pretense that they are not exploiting the conflict between women's rights and transgender advocacy organizations.

BeMoreMagdalen · 05/11/2019 23:06

Lang, the Freedom Programme could be of some assistance in this regard, no? Perhaps the mods could partake of said course. Novel idea, I know.

Creepster · 05/11/2019 23:07

It is so bizarre for a parenting site to discriminate against women who advocate for women's rights.

Datun · 05/11/2019 23:12

Excellent post kittens.

LangCleg · 05/11/2019 23:13

Lang, the Freedom Programme could be of some assistance in this regard, no? Perhaps the mods could partake of said course. Novel idea, I know.

I've suggested this that many times I couldn't count them. Only one response ever: we've had training in coercive control and can all spot it.

So er....

Catmaiden · 05/11/2019 23:21

I escaped a coercively controlled marriage. I've done the Freedom Programme and subsequent other WA courses. I recognise coercive control when it slaps me in the face.

@MNHQ, telling me I have to say men are women IS coercive, on your part. Sorry if that upsets you. Making me say men can change sex upsets me, too.

LangCleg · 05/11/2019 23:24

Right. So I've been back through the entire thread - annoying, since I've been on it from the get go - and I have had a post deleted.

What for?

I have no email. (Even checked old emails I've used for the site.)

Was it a strike?

How should I know?

What is the point of linking to guidelines when they're selectively applied?

What is the point of linking to guidelines if you don't tell the person they've been deleted? How are they supposed to know?

It's a ludicrous state of affairs.

Catmaiden · 05/11/2019 23:30

@LangCleg
Thats not on. That's not OK.

TalkingintheDark · 05/11/2019 23:42

I have a legal right to talk about my protected characteristic, sex.
I have a legal right to use the correct, legal, biological terms to do that: 'woman' 'female'
I have the legal right to differentiate myself, using MY PROTECTED CHARACTERISTIC from anyone who does not share it.
That means all men and all boys. All males. That is their protected characteristic, irrespective of how they identify.

I think it's time that MNHQ considered how they would respond to a challenge from women that MNHQ are censoring us for invoking our protected characteristic and using it EXACTLY as we are supposed to. That is, to differentiate ourselves from EVERY MEMBER of the opposite sex.
As is our legally protected right.

Going back a bit but this was an excellent post from Barracker. Why is our “protected characteristic” status glossed over/ignored so roundly? I wrote a gurt big long post and lost it 😖😱 but I think this is so important, it really needs reinforcing.

“Sex” was designated a protected characteristic for a reason, and it bloody well wasn’t because of historical/current oppression of males by females, was it now?

If we as a group that has been recognised in law as being disadvantaged, marginalised, discriminated against on the basis of a particular attribute - if we cannot name our own oppression, cannot come together without the presence of those who do not share our protected characteristic, cannot have spaces and services of our own free from those who have not suffered and do not suffer the same disadvantage, based on being of the female sex - then what was the point of the Equality Act anyway?

Why bother pretending that this anything to do with social justice, if you’re just going to keep on enabling the males - who have always held the balance of power - to keep hold of it; keep making sure that female people are controlled and silenced and kept relatively powerless?

So sick of the lies.

TalkingintheDark · 05/11/2019 23:48

Whatever is done to control how we speak it will never be enough for those people, because what they want is for us not to be allowed to speak at all.

Another great post from Kittens.

And isn’t this the absolute beginning and end of it.

They don’t want civil debate. They want us silenced, cancelled, excommunicated. They want us not to exist! Which makes it all the more hilarious that their go-to accusation is that we “deny their existence”.

DARVO and projection, projection and DARVO.

TalkingintheDark · 05/11/2019 23:52

Lang, that is shite.

I see Detroit has had a couple of deletions too.

Sending you love, Detroit - hope you’ve got somewhere safe to stay at the moment.
