Labour want to clarify that changing one's legal sex does not alter their biological sex

Clarify the distinction between legal and biological sex. I think it is in the best interests of society as a whole if the law is based on facts and words used in the law have their ordinary meaning in English. I would like to see it clarified that a change of legal sex does not alter a person's biological sex, which remains relevant in some circumstances.

This is good isn't it?

OP posts:
RagingBall · 30/10/2019 22:38

Where have they said this?

AutumnCrow · 30/10/2019 22:40

Can you clarify that?

StillWeRise · 30/10/2019 22:40

yes, please give us more details OP

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 30/10/2019 22:42

I will believe it when I see it. And I still want legal protection to be based around biological not legal sex.

Sexnotgender · 30/10/2019 22:43

Where have you got this from?

Inebriati · 30/10/2019 22:47

I Googled; its been suggested to the policy forum but its not been accepted as policy. Its pretty similar to the current law.

Perhaps the OP is The Voice Of The Labour Party and this is on the first tablet to be brought down the mountain to us. Not.

Pandainmyporridge · 30/10/2019 22:52

Maybe it is using the "want" in "Labour want to clarify" in a similar way to how it's used in, "you want a smack", or "you want a nap" or even "a single man ... is in want of a wife"

Alltheprettyseahorses · 30/10/2019 23:03

I've just read Allin-Khan's sickening, morally bankrupt reply to a constituent of hers, full of falsehoods about WPUK. There is no way the claim in the OP can be true.

BlackForestCake · 30/10/2019 23:05

It's bizarre to see a doctor pretending she can't tell women from men.

Lumene · 30/10/2019 23:07

Is this on another thread alltheprettyseahorses?

CarolCutrere · 30/10/2019 23:08

The Labour Party still can't construct a coherent policy about Brexit. This is an irrelevant side issue for most people so has no chance of having any joined up thinking applied to it (assuming the Labour party is still capable of joined up thinking on anything- which is not a given)

UrsulaPandress · 30/10/2019 23:08

Offs.

CoolCarrie · 30/10/2019 23:10

I will believe this when I see it OP, not holding my breath !

''Jeremy Corbyn is at odds with his own domestic policy adviser, Lachlan Stuart, who has said that trans women remain “biologically male”.

Perhaps OP can clarify what they mean, because there's nothing to support their statement.

MrGsFancyNewVagina · 30/10/2019 23:19

They obviously think that GC women are silly little bigots that they can throw a few crumbs to, in order to get their vote for Christmas. We.don’t.believe.you!

skql · 30/10/2019 23:20
