When I read this article I thought it is so bonkers I couldn't be bothered to really think about it.

But decided it is so topsy turvy in its thinking that I wanted to share.

So now we now biological women are little more than exploitative capitalists privatising womanhood! Grin

They seem to think we're all Mary Whitehouse re- incarnated.

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 28/10/2019 21:39

I knew I had seen Amrou somewhere else before...

'What quantum physics taught me about my queer identity'.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 28/10/2019 21:51

It was them at the trump rally.

I won't share the video because:

  1. I like you all too much to inflict the dreadful singing on you
  2. I like you all too much to inflict the dreadful crotch grabbing dancing on you
  3. it is a right wing source using this person to undermine the left
TheProdigalKittensReturn · 28/10/2019 21:52

This person thinks quantum physics is a "sect"?

Why is the BBC hiring non-scientist drag queens to teach science to children?

KatvonHostileExtremist · 28/10/2019 21:53

Oh lord peter the BBC thing too 🙈

NotTerfNorCis · 28/10/2019 21:53

The core objective of feminism [is] to dismantle all forms of oppression.

Really? I thought it was fighting for women's equality.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 28/10/2019 21:54

Well, you know, reality don't real and words don't have meanings because quantum, innit?

NotTerfNorCis · 28/10/2019 21:57

Oh wait, watching that video I've realised Amrou is a comedian. Well played sir!

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 28/10/2019 22:04

The core objective of feminism [is] to dismantle all forms of oppression.

Oh honey.... No.

Just another bloke expecting women to put in all the work. Same aul shite.

wigglybluelines · 28/10/2019 22:11

Still so fucked off with Posie Parker for doing that interview then glibly refusing to accept it impacts the rest of us. Of course it does.

We know PP only represents herself and does what she damn well pleases, fuck whatever impact that might have on the GC movement. But others don't see that. And here is an article in an major paper erroneously implying the GC movement is in league with white supremacists.

Posie if there's any chance you're reading, please, FFS, engage your brain before agreeing to do interviews. This is just creating work for the rest of us.

wigglybluelines · 28/10/2019 22:13

stumbledin it's classic DARVO.

Transgender ideology is driven by neoliberal / corporate interests, and people are realising this. So, time for the narcs to send that accusation right back to us.

GetbusywiththeFizzee · 28/10/2019 22:18

That BBC video, what on earth are they thinking? My first response was to thinking of Klingons but I had to stop at the photo shoots-they are both hilarious and desperately sad at the same time. I feel rather sorry for Glamrou.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 28/10/2019 22:27

Pointless to blame Posie for any of this imo.
The one thing this makes clear is that they will make up anything they want about us regardless of whether or not they have anything to hang it on.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 28/10/2019 22:28

Watching those photo shoots makes me feel like I'm glimpsing an alternate reality. Which I suppose is what people like that are trying to create, really, and have been for a while, and we're just now hitting the meltdown stage where they realize that perhaps the general public isn't going to go for it.

Justhadathought · 28/10/2019 22:29

Transgender ideology is driven by neoliberal / corporate interests

That is my take too......Not so much aware & conscious self interest, but arising from Neo-liberalism and late stage capitalism. The whole focus on individualism/free choice and ownership; and the idea that personal identities can be, almost, bought off the peg and modified to fit the individual. That the material and unchangeable facts of sex & race are irrelevant and able to be modified.

StrangeLookingParasite · 28/10/2019 22:54

there has been an 81 per cent rise in transphobic hate crimes this year.

Sure, if you include 'they looked at me funny', and they won't fall down and worship my every word and move' as 'hate crimes'.

Floisme · 28/10/2019 23:04

Is there a right if reply? I'm sure we could manage 500 words on why womanhood is a closed shop.

SisyphusRocks · 28/10/2019 23:33

When were my privates privatised? Nobody consulted me about this hostile takeover of my lady parts Shock

BickerinBrattle · 29/10/2019 00:11

The opposite of privatised assets are public goods, or the commons.

Are they stating that women are the commons?

I think deep down that’s exactly what they believe.

Freely grazed upon, available to all for their nurturance and succor, and without boundaries of any kind.

They don’t want to BE us. They want to USE us.

RedToothBrush · 29/10/2019 00:41

It's denial

And this is the logic to maintain the denial.

Make it sound vaguely intellectual, and it flatters the egos of people who consider themselves educated.

These aren't educated people. Just people who consider themselves educated. And are actually lazy shits.

Again its about image and trying to project a certain image to the world about the self.

Vanity wins

Creepster · 29/10/2019 00:49

Still so fucked off with Posie Parker for doing that interview then glibly refusing to accept it impacts the rest of us. Of course it does.

1st rule of misogyny: Women are responsible for what men do.

Creepster · 29/10/2019 00:51

It is the age old dispute between the men on the left and the men on the right over how best to apply the boot to women's neck.

HerFemaleness · 29/10/2019 01:09

The belief that all womanhood is centred around the womb not only regresses us from the complexity of gender into stark binary categorisation but feels aligned with some key tenants of capitalist thinking.

Tenants? Grin. I am totally convinced this person knows what they're talking about.

zebrasdontwearbras · 29/10/2019 01:25

Tenants Grin Don't the Independent use editors for this stuff?

I suppose he could mean all the bouncing babies women's wombs have (collectively) produced since the beginning of humanity? Ie. all of them, every single one Grin They could be described as tenants of a kind... Ask your mum, Glamrou, or any mum Wink

ChipOnMyOvary · 29/10/2019 01:33

Arguments extremely weak and highly confused. It would genuinely take too much time to decipher. MSc/PhD Embarrassing fail level.
