notbad
Laura Bates who set up every day sexism and opened mens eyes to what we put up with (not all men obvs)
Laura Bates who writes feminist slanted books for teenage girls to help them navigate the world of online porn/sexting/slut shaming that we didnt grow up in.
Yes, that laura bates. Her using non-GC language doesnt invalidate her contribution. Stop being dogmatic

For voicing moderate Unionism in the Bexit debates.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, in an Iranian jail for more than three years, with cackhanded behaviour by Boris in 2017 doing nothing to get her out of there.

willowbythcam · 20/10/2019 14:39

Four more to add.
I'd like to suggest
Onjali Rauf
Dani Ahrens
Kay Green
-all of them were speakers at the WPUK meeting in Brighton at which that intimidating protest which including many people kicking and thumping the windows throughout all the speeches and the police doing nothing to stop it
And Laura Pidcock MP.

Gingerkittykat · 20/10/2019 15:11

Jo Watson who set up the Drop the Disorder movement to challenge the culture of abuse and rape survivors being diagnosed with mental illness and often personality disorders for experiencing a normal trauma response to their experiences.

I've loved her campaigning and work and seeing her ideas enter the mainstream. These diagnoses disproportionately affect women and girls.

1 extra because there's too many amazing women to be limited to just 100. I can't believe the BBC couldn't even find 100 so had to pad their list out with a couple of men. Hmm They could've sent one of their journalists to ask us which women inspire us & then just published that list! Thanks everyone for contributing. Now I've got a nice long list of inspirational women to Google! Grin

ignatiusjreilly · 20/10/2019 20:33

AGnu Can't see any you missed so I must have counted wrongly, sorry.

Thanks for doing the list. What an amazing bunch of names!
