Someone I have never heard of has announced they are transgender and it's really upset the community

A youtuber called Trisha Paytas (female), who is very feminine has announced they are trans but more like a drag queen. So, they feel like a man but like they are like a man dressing as a woman but they are female , as far as I can tell because I don't have the time or the energy to watch their announcement video.

This gender identity thing is moving to extremes very quickly at the moment.

It’s fine for manly men to say they are a woman, but a woman saying they feel like a man who dresses as a woman is not allowed.

This, she makes her living from youtube. Youtubers have to keep on coming up with content, AKA attention seeking behaviour, or they lose subscribers. She's done the weightloss/fasting thing and she's not big enough to be a fat activist so this is the next best thing.

I'm perfectly happy for her to say whatever she wants. I don't think she's doing it to create debate. She's just self promoting but if people get themselves tied up in knots defining what being trans means it works for me.

This is simply taking the advice one of the old-fashioned TS once gave to test this ludicrous transgender nonsense - for a woman to identify as a man who identifies as a woman.

No less transphobic btw than trans privilege activists being apoplectic about Charlie saying she is a detransitioner without ever medically transitioning.

As if they've never heard about social transitions. Apparently a big deal. Apparently one does not have to medically transition to be trans. Apparently one does not even have to have gender dysphoria to be trans.

But when someone comes along who has GD and who has socially transitioned who then stops doing that, then it turns out they're not trans after all. Not without medically transitioning.

That community polices itself a lot harder than we do. Maybe they should get some acceptance training from Stonewall.

What I want to know is where all the gay kids have gone. Statistics in the UK suggest that 6-7% of people are gay, so 6-7 pupils out of every 100. Where are they? All being shuttled along on the trans-train?

Why are people mad about it (genuine question)? Many TW continue to look more manly, than this person looks womanly.

Exactly what I thought aswell. Now I'm not saying I "believe" her however men seem to be believed without question or else anyone saying otherwise is transphobic but these same people can say she's lying for attention? interesting indeed...not surprising of course, just kind of cements the fact that this is all about men stamping on women

When I was younger I used to imagine that if I was a man I'd be gay. Human beings are complex and feelings about the self are too. There is nothing new in this; except now the TRANS movement thinks it has invented the wheel, and in doing so takes itself far too seriously, and literally.

I’d assumed she was taking the pee. After all if that guy with a beard can be a woman because he “feels like one”, then logical conclusion is that a woman with long blond hair, face full of make up and ultra “feminine” risqué clothing can be a man.

She has every bit as much right to say she is trans as any of them.
