Evening Right-Wing Funded Evangelical Bigots!

May I present the case of Moody vs. York.

In brief, Stephanie Hayden and Adrian Harrop complained to York Philosophy dept about me back in August. The HoD claimed I was bound by social media policy. I wasn't. He knew this and IT WAS DOCUMENTED IN A MEETING IN JANUARY, but he still sent me SEVEN e-mails insisting I was. I was forced to seek representation. When I did that, the HoD removed Research Associate status from EVERYONE without giving a reason.

So:

(A) The HoD lied about me being bound by social media policy but decided to pressure me into sending near instant responses about the matter before I could meet my lawyer (I was on holiday).

(B) When it was pointed out by my lawyer that he had no case, everyone mysteriously lost their RA status.

I'm finally allowed to go public, and I wanted to anyway to get this out there before having to deal with the even bigger case.

What's HoD?

Sounds awful by the way. Sorry this happened to you, you've clearly been targeted.

HoD = Head of Dept (also a philosophy professor).

All his e-mails (and mine) are now public. At all times, I behaved professionally, and indeed, tried to de-escalate the situation more than once. Instead I was bombarded by e-mails telling me that I was bound by a policy that he already knew didn't apply to me.

THAT'S CALLED LYING.

As I see it, the issue has escalated beyond the initial complaint and has become one of the HoD's unprofessional behaviour. And I am not afraid to go public.

So on the basis of nothing you lost your RA title which came with access privileges which were presumably of value to your work? On no grounds whatsoever?

The HoD had the authority to take away RA status once it has been granted? Isn't there an official procedure for both? Or was he exceeding his powers?
How did the other RAs feel about that?

Who is "EVERYONE" in this text? If York were being spiteful I would have expected RA status to be removed from you but from other people?

Ridiculous overreaction by your HOD.

Sunlight is definitely what this issue needs, as much as possible, as often as possible. It will come apparent quite which direction the targeting is coming from.

Who else is affected by having their RA status removed? What do they say?

How many research associates had their title removed from them? How do they feel about it? I hope they're not blaming you.

What happens next? Are you talking to anyone in the press, e.g. the Sunday Times?
