Kate pleaded guilty*. The trial date is set for two days from 6 Feb. The prosecution asked for a delay as the counsel they wanted on the case starts a 6wk hearing on the original date of 20 Jan but were denied.

Discussing timings defence said there is quite a lot of disclosure pending. They don't feel there's much for prosecution witness to say as it's all in the tweets but because of extensive bad character that would extend time required. #katescottow

Defence said they would be making a bad character application but can't bring it until they've seen the relevant material. Referenced multiple previous convictions. #katescottow

A "bad character application" is asking the court for permission to introduce evidence about a witness's bad character. Discrediting a witness or defendant for stuff that isn't specifically germane to a case isn't allowed unless counsel has sought permission.

I don't know what's going on but want to stress that I'm completely behind Kate, and will donate very soon (payday on Fri!). This isn't a competition, and it benefits us all to support each other. It is outrageous that one individual can invade our lives like this with their bullying tactics.

Late to this thread but another sending support to Kate and her children. This case is important to all of us.

The bad character thing is interesting - I hope it is allowed as it is very relevant in this case. Would this also allow the defence to point out that Hayden is somewhat of a vexatious litigant?

Kate's hole was started by her husband who didn't describe the hole in very supportive terms. I wonder if that has put some feminists off the idea of helping to dig. It shouldn't, but you know.

Big Steph understands court but seems to only enjoy grandstanding and bullying. Presumably there wasn't enough opportunity for that today as it was just a plea hearing. I'm not sure if they even needed to be there as a witness rather than a complainant.

I found the correct hole by searching for Kate's name (Kate Scottow) and 'crowdfunder'

So if I'm getting this right:
Kate's 'hole' needs a more 'spades' in an effort to "fight-the-power"

So if someone went to the place where the holes are, that big crowded field, and they searched out the one that is trying to "fight-the-power" they may just find it?
