A 25 year old man killed Tracy Single, a transwoman in the US.

They were dating.

Peter Tatchell has taken to Twitter to blame Tracy's death on feminists. This is outrageous propaganda, using Tracy's murder at the hands of a violent boyfriend to further Peter's misogynistic views on feminists.

Can we complain about this somewhere? This kind of outrageous propaganda is dangerous.

I would place good money on the fact that a feminist has not once in the history of the world murdered a transwoman.

TRAs do this all the time. Any murder of a trans person is always 'transphobic' which means feminists are to blame.

Tracy appears to be another victim of domestic violence. Like the vast majority of domestic violence cases the perpetrator was a man.

Most of the murders of transwomen in the US are of sex workers murdered by punters or like this one, murdered by an intimate partner. Being a sex worker carries something like a 35-fold risk of being murdered compared to someone who isn’t a sex-worker. Stop pretending that trans women are being murdered by groups of rampant transphobes roaming the streets, fuelled by radical feminism. They are murdered because the sorts of men who use prostitutes see them as human garbage, whatever their sex or gender-identity. Yes, that’s right, the sex industry that you constantly defend as offering empowerment. Hate to tell you but it doesn’t. It just makes you likely to come into contact with some of the vilest part of humanity. And then when they kill you, it’s not even their fault, it’s feminists’ fault.

Male violence is a terrible thing. It's shameful that so many men are too uncomfortable to confront it for what it is, but not really a surprise.

I just checked out Tatchell's Twitter account for 22 August and I can't see the Tweet. I was planning to send an email link to an academic contact of mine who thinks Tatchell is generally a good thing. I'm not a Twitter user so perhaps I'm missing something. Peter is strangely silent on the murders of women committed by men and transwomen which we could equally well pin on misogynist rhetoric such as his.
