There's literally nothing that convinces a jury a man is a rapist,unless he admits it himself.

I actually cried watching that, at least the world knows. If this video had not of been released it would be another lying woman. Rape is close to unprovable, no matter what the evidence.

Even then, he has to actually say he raped the woman - saying he had sex but it was consensual (even if there's video evidence of her yelling 'no, get off me') is enough for juries to decide it isn't rape.

It's a fucking nightmare for women.

Nothing shocks me anymore, I hold out a tiny hope my own case may come to court but it fades by the day that is will either get there or be successful if it does. It’s enough to make you think what’s the point?

Plus I got dumped this week because I disclosed I was raped to a date, he probed and probed what happened then said he didn’t have the ability to process my trauma and I was reckless on our first date being alone with him as I should have know better as a rape victim that he could have been a rapist!

Were the jury bribed? Or did they all hate women?

I can see a legitimate defense for him pulling her back into the room. If she were impaired or inebriated and acting bizarrely, letting her run into the street in her underwear would be letting her come to harm.

Of course, if she is so impaired or inebriated that she is running into the street undressed, she is unable to consent to sex so it would still be rape.

The defence said he was trying to "protect" her.

It took 4 years to get to this point(a judge even threw it out)and the jury decided in 3 hours that not only was this woman not raped but that he should be left to roam the streets .

And they want us to come forward, and press charges, have our lives scrutinised, our underwear on stand, to give our phones, bare our souls and pain and for what?
Nothing is ever fucking good enough. Not videos, not witness statements,not recordings.

It is horrific that a jury can watch that video and then acquit. There are two possible scenarios. She was running away from him because she didn't want to have sex with him (rape). Or she was so high or mentally unwell that she was putting herself in danger by running around the street half dressed. This would make her unable to consent to sex (rape). How can anyone look at that video and think that woman was wanting and able to consent to sex with that man?

We tell our daughters that “no” is enough but it’s not. They will be victim blamed, they will not be believed by the people they need to be believed by. The judicial system is stacked against them and they run the risk of name and shame of social media. But we need these women to be brave, we need to support these women as the alternative is horrific.
