MN Feminism chat not appearing in google search results

Just thought I'd mention it...

Usually find my way here by googling "mumsnet feminism". First link pointed to Feminism Chat.
Now even googling "mumsnet feminism chat" doesn't return the result.
(I'm not signed in on my browser or anything else I can think of that would affect it.)

Yes those are Mumsnet threads but it doesn't link to the main Feminism chat board, which it used to do

Just tried it and not coming up for me either - same results as Arnold - no direct link to this board or threads on this board at all.

I'm in US and not coming up for me. Typing in 'mumsnet feminism chat' brings up a thread in site stuff and one in flouncer's corner. Nothing else relevant

Not coming up for me either. I've been googling "mumsnet feminism" for over a year on my phone. Top thread has always been a direct link to the first page of the board. Now the board itself is no longer on any of the search result pages, but individual Feminism Chat threads are sparsely sprinkled throughout the results.

I just googled "mumsnet feminism chat" to see if it would get me there and still no direct link to the front page of the board, just some very old threads with "feminism chat" in the title or posts.

Odd. And annoying.

FYI, I have just added a link to the front page of the board to my home screen to avoid the issue. Leads me straight here.

I think this happened a couple of days ago??? Maybe 16 August. Would Mumsnet be able to detect a change in the number of entrants to the website? Would the number of people entering the site to Mumsnet Feminism Chat from Google be noticeably down?

Someone who knows about search engines might know this. Was there a Google algorithm update? Or did Mumsnet do something?

You might use DuckDuckGo or similar to search for Zachary Vorhies. He has a lot to say about Google...

I couldn’t get to this board via google on my PC-only via the shortcut on my phone. Worked ok yesterday for me-thought it was very odd.

There are apparently 20 000 engineers at Google working only on search results.

haXXor wow. Just wow. Even if I'm on the other side politically, that is just so totalitarian.

I also came across this interesting article on artificial intelligence and machine learning which explains that unexpectedly machine-based decision making does not eliminate human bias. (Who knew ever heard of garbage in- garbage out?)

It may be worth starting a thread on both those sub-boards redirecting the google searchers to the main FWR chat page.

Duckduckgo takes me right to Mumsnet feminism chat, but Google takes me to an old thread here from 2017--- a thread started by someone swearing not to be an MRA and complaining about this forum.....Fascinating.

Duckduckgo always works for me too, it's my go to search engine

Not coming up for me either using google on safari but Siri helpfully suggested the right page so I got here but v odd.

Another weird thing.. I used to find old threads by googling MN + their title and it always worked. No more!

I just tried it using startpage.com, which is anonymised Google searching. Most of the results are threads on this forum.

Same here - tried a few different searches and the feminism chat homepage never comes up. That's really sinister.

I would appreciate MNHQ looking into what's going on, if they could. Really seems a bit odd. Feminism chat homepage is unfindable on google, it seems.
