Interesting there is a divergence in thinking. Older trans people like India feel they have transed and they are nolonger trans and are now fully the gender/sex they moved to. It's not a popular opinion...

If a transwoman is a woman, then India is correct.

NotTerfNorCis · 05/08/2019 20:50

So the meaning of 'cis' is changing... what will they call us next?

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 05/08/2019 21:10

TRA are trying to force women to be a subset of women by claiming that there are two types of women - trans and cis. But now are saying that there are two types of cis women - male and female? So now women are a subset of cis women?

Is almost as if male people don't want women to have words to describe ourselves. Even the words they are imposing on us.

Fuckedoffaboutit · 05/08/2019 21:13

Well yes I thought that TWAW was the mantra but it appears that TW become women when they are done transing... so not sure what the difference is between the "Transwomen is a woman" and the post trans woman is ... also not sure where the line is for post transing...is it at the GRC or again when I say I'm done....

Conversion therapy, innit? Just cloaked as something else.

India feels that India is no longer a gay man attracted to other men, but is in fact a straight woman attracted to men.

Look at that tweet purely from the sexual orientation aspect.

"I'm not gay any more (said with respect).

Gay is something I went through before coming out the other side.

Gay people these days don't want to convert to straight. Never becoming straight. That's not me.

Having gone the full nine yards, I'm more than entitled to my view".

Fuckedoffaboutit · 05/08/2019 21:16

Yes ... Joss is very upset with India and doesn't like her id-ing out of being trans .... possibly because Joss hadn't thought of it themselves...

OP posts:
NotTerfNorCis · 05/08/2019 21:26

It's very significant that Willoughby is describing themselves not just as a woman, but as a cis woman. When genderists say TWAW, they're usually still distinguishing between trans and 'cis' women. This is a step further. It means there is no longer a word for biological woman.

'Afab' could also mean transmen.

'Uterus haver' excludes biological women who have had hysterectomies.

'Biological woman' and 'female' both supposedly also describe transwomen.

'XX woman' is out because apparently some, very rare, women have XY chromosomes.

So...

Having been driven out of every word we can use to describe ourselves, we need to reclaim 'woman' to mean only those people born physically female.

Transwomen are not women.

Popchyk · 05/08/2019 21:31

And interesting that straight men aren't being encouraged to examine their own sexual preferences with respect to people like India.

There's no campaign on social media to get straight men to be sexually inclusive of males who identify as women. Nobody telling them to be kind and that if they don't include males as part of the group to whom they are attracted then they are flat out transphobic.

Like that woke bloke on Twitter ages back, who smugly sat back and proclaimed "I see transwomen as women - apart from relationship purposes".

Meaning that he saw them as men as soon as it affected him personally.

@Popchyk

It was a man named Robin Green

Ta, Jacky.

Yes, it was a classic.

JackyHolyoake · 05/08/2019 21:38

UK law is very clear:

no person can change their natural sex

a woman is a female of any age

not even possession of a GRC changes a person's natural sex, it merely creates a legally fictional status on a person insofar as certain interactions with UK law are concerned.

FormerMediocreMale · 05/08/2019 21:40

Gay is something I went through before coming out the other side.

Gayness was a phase - just a tad homophobic!

pombear · 05/08/2019 21:43

IW: I've been through all the processes and now I'm a cis woman (throws glitter everywhere).

Other TW: Hell no, you still need to keep the 'trans' word in your identity, because we've (transwomen) all defined what 'cis' means and you're not it. You don't get to define the language [FWR women give a hollow laugh] (many other TW: apart from when we shouldn't be seen as transwomen, but as women for all intents and purposes]

IW: Woohoo, I'm a cis woman

Joss: Of course its unacceptable, unless you change the actual meaning of trans or cis. [many women on FWR again laugh hollowly ,given the changing of the meaning of 'woman' by people like Joss]

Joss: She could try fucking off to anonymity. 👍

AKA please stop shining a light on this fuckery of language and reality India, we've managed to cloud and fog this shit over the last few years. You're making it awkward India, fuck off.

Acceptance without exception.

Don't isolate poor India Sad

Haworthia · 05/08/2019 21:43

Well, let’s not forget IW on CBB - the delusion was strong.

IW has had genital surgery, right? I guess, in that sense, IW feels the need to be set apart from the majority of transwomen. It’s just unfortunate that IW thinks biological womanhood can be obtained with a neovagina and some synthetic hormones.

Campervan69 · 05/08/2019 21:45

Also thought this was interesting from India.

Finally they are realising that if anyone can self id as trans them there is no meaning to the word.

Words losing their meaning is upsetting as we all know.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 05/08/2019 21:57

IW has had genital surgery, right?

Who knows, they claim they have, but they also claim to be cis.

Fuckedoffaboutit · 05/08/2019 22:02

Pombear you are spot on....There is only so much language gymnastics that can be done...

Haworthia · 05/08/2019 22:07

Fair point, @ZuttZeVootEeeVro Grin

Michelleoftheresistance · 05/08/2019 22:27

There is a point where you just stop trying to make sense of it all and admit, these are people with serious problems who aren't really functioning within reality.

Bespin · 06/08/2019 06:55

interesting point and IW are not two things you would ever think to put together lol.

MrsJamin · 06/08/2019 07:05

I miss a time when words meant things. India does too, bless.
