Yaniv alert.

The co-chair of Open Labour, Emma Burnell, retweeted this.

twitter.com/hstanley_/status/1155367753538244610

"Hey @jack @Twitter You see how men are saying this? Can you reinstate all the women you banned for saying the exact same thing please?"

That tweet was in response to Maxime Bernier, French politician, referring in a Tweet to Yaniv as a man.

The trans cult were swift to act. Twice-removed indirect misgendering while ignoring the paedo alert.

twitter.com/OpenLabour/status/1155794528764403713

Labour make a long statement about awful injustices visited upon trans people.

And not a cheep about the working class immigrant women who are being harassed. Because it's been a long old time since Labour gave any kind of toss about those people.

Emma grovels of course. Made to repeat the mantra.

twitter.com/EmmaBurnell_/status/1155795161399664641

"I agreed this statement, the sentiments and content. I am again very sorry"

Random person makes Emma affirm the vow: "Are transwomen women, Emma?"

Emma: "Yes, of course".

Open Labour .. so Open its brain has fallen out!

What a state Labour is in! It doesn't know what is a woman!

How deeply misogynist is Open Labour !

Michelleoftheresistance · 29/07/2019 15:07

Bend over Emma. It's for your own good you know.

Mr Murdstone is back, he has blue hair and a Labour rosette. And he's every bit as joyless, tedious, narrow minded and outdated as he was in the 19th century when Dickens took the mickey out of this type of muppet.

LocalLanie · 29/07/2019 15:11

Namechanged for this as I know some of the personnel involved IRL

Open Labour is up its own arse and full of opportunists. They’re hanging around making vague noises about the leadership but not really doing anything about it, hoping that Corbyn fucks off soon and they can come out of it all untainted. Their lack of self-awareness is almost on a par with Momentum types.

People can blame the demise of the party on Corbyn all they like and they would be correct to an extent, but groups like Open Labour are culpable too.

Popchyk · 29/07/2019 15:17

I'd really miss Labour if they were gone, though. Which looks ever more likely.

Labour can always be relied upon to provide a laugh.

Helen Lewis and Sarah Ditum are on that thread if anyone wants to have a look.

They are Asking Questions about the poor immigrant women and what Labour's stance is on workers' rights in this situation. Whether it is Labour's position that poor immigrant women must be compelled to touch the genitals or not.

A personal response to Open Labour's statement:

  1. Trans derfining people are often deliberately misgendered in an effort to belittle or provoke them.

Er no, it's simply that many people refuse to go along with the pretence. There is also no legal requirement for citizens anywhere to use incorrect pronouns for anyone. There are only 5000 people in UK with a GRC so some people in their professional capacity only have to use such pronouns for those 5000 people.

  1. Trans people are sometimes labeled as perverts or sexual opportunists because of their trans status.

Er ... JY, anyone? Karen White, Jessica Winfield and others ... 50% of transgender prisoners are sex offenders.

fairplayforwomen.com/prisons/

  1. Trans people are sometimes portrayed as an organised lobby seeking to silence debate or suppress feminism.

Stonewall, anyone?

  1. Trans people are often portrayed as as illegitimate voice in public debate.

Well, until 2017 trans people were the only voices being heard ... and then we women started demanding our voices be heard too. Nobody's voice is illegitimate; nobody should be silencing debate; and nobody can suppress feminism.

littlbrowndog · 29/07/2019 15:30

Why did she have to say sorry. Ffs

What bullies they are.

And Labour wonder why women won’t vote for them.

They can bully all they want but everyone has seen this bullying. Did they bully that Canadian politician. ?

And any mention of the women harassed out of their jobs

Popchyk · 29/07/2019 15:38

"And any mention of the women harassed out of their jobs"

No, of course not. Labour would never be involved in workers' rights now. It is 2019. Workers' rights are transphobic.

I wonder if we will ever get to a point where Labour will realise that by gleefully denouncing a Labour member on Twitter, for the crime of indirectly commenting on something that Labour doesn't want anyone to find out about, might actually be counter-productive.

And that the thing that Labour doesn't want to get out (predator who identifies as trans) gets out even more because of Labour's rank stupidity in publicising it.

More people know about Yaniv now precisely because of Labour's actions here.

And now more people know that Labour is only concerned about misgendering a predator who identifies as trans, rather than working class immigrant women being forced to touch a predator's penis as part of their employment.

Everything that Keir Hardie fought for. Geniuses.

JackyHolyoake · 29/07/2019 15:45

All Open Labour has done here is express the breadth and depth of the ignorance about transgenderism among its members.

OldCrone · 29/07/2019 16:12

This is one of the replies to Sarah Ditum's tweet.

twitter.com/AynieLR/status/1155816668804857857

"Interesting to consider how a trans woman with a penis can seriously be thought of as woman."

But that's what 'transwomen are women' means, since nearly all "transwomen" have penises. It means men are women if they say they are. I don't think most people realise this.

FlamingNeedle · 29/07/2019 16:32

Very much doubt EB was bullied into apologising, more that she values her position in Open Labour a great deal.

Goosefoot · 29/07/2019 16:35

Maxime Bernier Is Canadian, rather than French. Also a bit of a dick.

MockerstheFeManist · 29/07/2019 17:27

"Very few of our committee (or members) are well enough versed in a complex US legal issue for us to be putting out statements about it..."

  • "You mean Canadian?"

"Yes."

Lawlsie1976 · 29/07/2019 18:28

Deeply disappointed that Emma felt the need to apologise. Maybe she was bullied into it or felt she had no choice. So this Open Labour lot are just as bad as the other lot? They're all into the transwomen are women meme aren't they?

I would say vote LibDem but Jo Swinson buys into this crap too. I'm wondering if it's age related? Swinson is only 39. Emma Burnell is presumably quite young too? (I'm 63, anyone under 50 is young to me!)

It's a Third Wave thing isn't it? The new feminism that centres men. That's how it seems to me anyways. I'm not a mum (though I am a very hands-on interfering old auntie). I'm immensely grateful to mumsnet for somewhere sane to talk about this! It's simply not possible on Twitter.

Lawlsie1976 · 29/07/2019 18:33

D'OH!!!! I just missed a trick here didn't I? I can identify as a mum can't I? If I feel like one, then I am one! I mean that's how it goes these days, right?

Popchyk · 29/07/2019 21:04

Emma getting loads of support on Twitter.

twitter.com/EmmaBurnell_/status/1155795161399664641

Nice to see.

I hope Emma takes time to reflect.

OP posts:
littlbrowndog · 29/07/2019 21:15

I still can’t get ove4 why she said sorry then that guy made her repeat the mantra TWAW.

Yuck that guy. How creepy, makes my skin crawl how he said it to her

He said to her. So TWAW are women ?

She said yes TWAW

WhereAreWeNow · 29/07/2019 22:32

So who exactly are Open Labour? I'm a Labour member and hadn't heard of them until today. I had heard of EB though. Very disappointing to see her (forced to?) apologise and repeat the TWAW mantra.

barelove · 29/07/2019 22:41

I don't agree that she was 'forced' to apologise or to say TWAW. She chose to apologise and say that idiotic thing because she prioritises her position over women's rights.

littlbrowndog · 29/07/2019 22:49

Yes barelove I would no5 have let a random on twitter bully me.

Or a political party.

But why do they want to bully a woman. It was really horrid to watch and think these are real ppl bullying a woman and affecting her life

But then you can’t ever appease these bullies enough.
Might as well stand up to it and crack on with what you really believe in
Otherwise you will just lie in bed at night thinking I collapsed to bullies and I don’t feel better for it

barelove · 29/07/2019 22:55

I agree they were bullies and I have sympathy with any victim of bullying, but yeah, I wish she'd realise that to stand up to them would've won her support from so many more people than those she sold out to.

Popchyk · 29/07/2019 23:00

It's hard to go against the Woke Stasi, though.

Wouldn't write her off just yet.

Loads of people ridiculing that Open Labour statement and loads of people supporting Emma.

If Labour is going to survive (and yes I mean survive as a political party), it will take women like Emma finding the courage to stand up for women's rights in the face of the misogynistic beardy bros who clearly take such delight in slapping women down.

If all the women like Emma are hounded out of the party, then Labour will never survive. It will die a very painful death.

OP posts:
littlbrowndog · 29/07/2019 23:09

Yeah what’s the point of lying down for bullies. You just feel bad. No point . You just end up feeling resentful and hating yourself

What you said Emma was right

Just tell the wokie beardies to do one as they don’t give no flying fucks about you
They are just being showie offies to their mates and hoping to get some power from this

Yuck

Juells · 30/07/2019 07:54

He said to her. So TWAW are women ?

He phrased it slightly differently to that, and added the name 'Emma', to really put her in her place. It was on the lines of "When did you stop beating your wife?", she was foolish to reply to him.

He had such a backlash to his bullying that he's deleted all his tweets to her, having claimed he definitely positively wasn't bullying, how could anyone think such a thing?

This is the kind of nonsense she's facing pbs.twimg.com/media/EAqrdkrXsAUFv4C?format=jpg&name=medium
The pomposity and self-righteousness would be hilarious if it weren't so frightening. Sad that women can be such traitors to their own sex, joining in the abuse.

Saw this image on the thread, which sums it up well.

Labour hilarious again on Twitter
Iminthewrongstory · 30/07/2019 08:28

I'm newish to MN so keep wanting to 'like' posts but can't.

Interesting that there has been backlash/support for EB. Someone wrote a frightening thought police type series of tweets where they had gone through EB's twitter timeline and followings and reported her crimes such as following some GC feminists and (shock!) interacting with Hadley Freeman about Hillary Clinton. I went back a couple of hours later to see how that thread was progressing (early on someone had posted 'Stalin would be very proud of you.') but notice it is now private and their website unobtainable.

littlbrowndog · 30/07/2019 08:34

Yeah I saw that woman who had gone through Emma’s twitter timeline to prove how transphobic Emma was and then posted them in a series of tweets to prove Emma’s transphobia

It was a very biazzare and nasty thing to do and must have taken hours
