I used to be a member of Amnesty.

@Erythronium @Lumene have you got some more info on that please?! Links or something. Thx

OneFootintheRave · 20/07/2019 13:29

I've done some googling! Unbelievable.

TrollTheRespawnJeremy · 20/07/2019 13:43

I've cancelled my amnesty direct debit as well. So short sighted of them and confuses their message even further.

Goosefoot · 20/07/2019 14:14

I have a slightly different objection to "love is a human right". I think in a significant way it's true, we are obligated to act in love, of others, of nature, of ourselves. Not doing so causes most serious problems in the world, all humans need love to be healthy.

My objection is they are reducing love to sex, and to people doing what they want, which is so shallow, and unhealthy, and lacking in any kind of insight, that it is hard to imagine people can think that way. Ppeople can, and many have, lived whole ives without sexual love, because that is what circumstances dictated, and they have been whole human beings and had good lives.

Telling people they need sexual love to be fulfilled is setting them up for disappointment, and setting up some pretty significant social problems, I am sure that hearing this and believing it is the seed that grows many of the incels. But it's a pretty common message in our whole society, not just among men's rights types.

At school I used to sit next to a lad called Dick Pandering.

Did he know of a Wayne King?

BickerinBrattle · 20/07/2019 17:15

I once had a neighbour named Harry Cox.

LangCleg · 20/07/2019 17:34

Lies!

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 20/07/2019 17:38

I knew a man through work called Juan Costain

this is 100% true

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 20/07/2019 18:51

A HCP I know managed to talk a couple out of naming their baby Hugh Janus.

MockerstheFeManist · 20/07/2019 18:54

I was at school with Theresa Green and Leah Kissinger, pronounced a la Carrie Fisher in Star Wars.

OneEndedStick · 20/07/2019 22:40

I identify as: Nice. Therefore I AM nice. Because I say so. No matter what I do or say, nor your own experience of me. That's right, Amnesty, you and your transactivist friends, your perception of me doesn't matter. You must treat me as if I'm nice, all the time.....you fucking useless misogynist mob of penis-pandering pimps. :) Don't be indicating my identities now, ya hear? Dickheads.

OneEndedStick · 20/07/2019 22:43

I say! How dare autocorrect change "invalidating" to "indicating", what, with me being so nice and all. Bastard.

WhatAGreatDay · 20/07/2019 23:01

Not Amnesty, but I cancelled my membership of Liberty (after being a member for about 10 years) when they sent us a letter about how great the GRA would be and that "it will only affect you if you're trans". Complete disregard for how women and girls would be affected. I told them why I was cancelling and got some woke waffle back.

GirlDownUnder · 21/07/2019 01:01

Penis-pandering pimps

Amnesty's new tag line Star

Watchfulwaiter · 21/07/2019 01:58

Sadly, all too few people appear to be able to think for themselves eg Caroline Lucas.

"I am who I say I am"

Hmm < x 1000

Yep I get the message I am a male and shall decide for you being female what it right.

We know we women, real women have lived this we know what the message is same old shit generation after generation have had to deal with and just as we are making progression we are slapped down again

The hatred and need to control women is still ingrained in our society even in 2019 who would have thought it 10 years ago

TinselAngel · 21/07/2019 10:21

It was Amnesty that said in their GRA consultation guidance that the spousal veto should be removed because it can be used to abuse transitioning married men, yet came up with no evidence at all that it ever has.

Did you hear the one about 'Nick' and who he said he was?

That one worked out well.

Don't know what could go wrong with Amnesty's 'I am what I say I am' shit.

Apart from a safeguarding loophole to drive a bus through.
