Why are bras so ridiculously uncomfortable? And phones and...

It is all just made for men isn't it?

I can't find a decent smartphone that fits in my hand any more never mind my pocket (I get those sewn in by the tailor now since they are mostly absent from women's clothes these days). I got tennis elbow and the physio partly blames the phone and banned me from typing on it rendering it fairly useless.

I hate bra shopping, it is always the same and I am always driven to it by summer heat making the usually uncomfortable completely unbearable.

Why all the sharp pointy scratchy spikes and lacy ribbony stupid bits and pinchy elastic everywhere?

I am allergic to latex which makes it all nigh impossible and not as svelte as I used to be so braless is no longer an option.

I am feeling very frustrated with it all and have been reading Invisible Women which is an incredible book and is making me brave enough to complain about what needs changed in my world!

We need women run companies making women centred design and development entirely accessible and the norm, like actual women not what men think women should settle for.

Press pads for debit cards don’t allow for nails.

I don't own a single bra that is uncomfortable, but that's only been the case since I started going to a proper lingerie shop. The ladies there are amazing and deal with all sorts of body shapes and issues. There is no going back for me.
As for the phone, I have an iPhone SE, which I find is fine size-wise

That Anita bra would be perfect without the moulded foam cups.

What's the price like on Molke? Another thing I hate about bras is how much money we're meant to spend on them, and all that hand-washing nonsense. DH has some higher-end underwear and it requires no more maintenance than any other , and there's no faffy measuring or being told you need to get used to tightness either.

I dont feel oppressed without pockets.
I have found two extremely comfortable bra brands.
My phone feels fine.

Not saying you arent uncomfortable, but it isnt the case across the board!

MoverOfPaper · 15/07/2019 13:00

The Anita never had moulded foam cups when I had them.

Molke are expensive £35 ish? Although that’s cheaper than bras I used to get from Rigby and Peller. But they’re a small company and Scottish made.

I agree about the cost and the pain of handwashing though.

Handbrakes on bikes and buggies - man sized.

In fact reading Invisible Women has me humming PJ Harvey on a daily basis.

In Asda today I carefully inspected an entire wall of cheapish lingerie and found not one pair of pants or bra sans lace or itchy elastic. I did in despair by one "soft bra" lined by lace which lookes as if it can be unpicked and removed. The men's department however had a very comfy section of cotton boxers and y fronts (no lace whatsoever) which I was tempted by but not sure the extra material would fit under my very fitted round the arse lady jeans. I did buy myself some very cheap man pjs on account of their soft warm comfyness and actual body covering usefulness in comparison to the chilly/woman/scratchy department.

I know Asda is hardly a template for world representation but it's as far as the budget can stretch sometimes!

I am way behind and haven't read the whole thread. SORRY.

Fucking Cars. Bug bear of mine forever and I'm officially of now. Why shouldn't my foot reach the damn fucking pedal ?

Why is there an arm rest? My arm doesn't reach it.

So just patronise me by putting cameras and beepers in?

I'd love to be a car designer. And an architect for ladies toilets. And typist chairs. And desks. Work top heights.

Gah.
