The Epstein case - how many famous men had sex with young children?

Is anyone else horrified at the men involved in this? I mean I thought having sex with young girls / boys (I mean very young) was a proclivity of a very small number of men (mostly, before any but women do it too people come on to correct me).

Is it that men who succeed in something are so inured to their own invincibility that they think they can get away with anything or is there a correlation between the ruthlessness needed to succeed in these areas and sexual attraction to younger people?

I'm just musing to myself here - but if even half the names mentioned are involved then this really is not a proclivity of a small number of men, it is endemic.

Yes Goosefoot but the writer was Democrat leaning I think. TBH, I used to love American politics but now it all seems so partisan and messy they can't see the wood for the trees.

I figured she was. But it seems like saying, oh, we've had a lot of storms, maybe now people will vote Democrat. Random.

Or even worse really, a lot of conservatives in the US associate sexual libertinism with the left.

This is concerning:
An attorney for lawyer Alan Dershowitz wrote a letter to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on Tuesday, asking whether the media should be excluded from the proceeding because his oral arguments on behalf of his client could contain sensitive information that has been under seal.

The appeals court had not responded to his concern as of Friday, but if the hearing is closed during his lawyer’s argument, it would represent the latest in a long history of successful efforts to keep details of Epstein’s sex crimes sealed.

Dershowitz has been linked with Epstein for a long time, and not always in a good way.

And yes, the Epstein scandal is no respecter of political parties or rank. They should all be brought to book, royalty and all, but I'm not holding my breath.

I reckon there will be one big scalp and a massive cover up for the rest of the people involved.

New York Times has a feature on Julie K Brown, the Miami Herald investigative journalist who doggedly pursued the cold case Epstein sweetheart deal to start uncovering the extent of the depravity and cover-up. She is a true heroine, (from a very challenging background) pursuing this case with great empathy and integrity. It's a story that bears comparison with Spotlight, re Boston Globe's uncovering of the church cover-up of abuse by priests.
