JY’s parent sounds like an absolute loon. It would explain a lot.

The defendant is developmentally challenged and travels to womens homes to perform these services and JY thinks they should be obligated to go to anyones house that requests it.

Reading these tweets makes me think of all the cases we've heard about where commentators scoff at women for not using common sense and listening to their instincts and barristers use it as fodder that they're lying when generally they're just trying to be polite as they have been conditioned to be.

In the JY cases, these women are using their common sense and establishing their boundaries and they're being sued for it.

Women! You must have boundaries when you can be blamed or held culpable for them.

Otherwise, if they inconvenience men, children, society at large, or general GF or CF, then they are socially and legally deemed not to exist.

I hope everybody here is very ashamed of any boundary that they've ever defended that might inconvenience or not be to the service of more glorious others.

Under Bird's Eye.

Popchyk · 09/07/2019 21:32

It bloody infuriates me that he has deliberately gone after women who are immigrants, poor and vulnerable. Working hard to take care of themselves and their families.

JY has no job and is looking to harass these women into handing over money to get rid of him.

And the system in Canada is set up to facilitate abusers hounding vulnerable women.

And of course the progressive left is silent on this. Nothing to see, nothing to say. The only women who matter are male.

AlessandraAsteriti · 09/07/2019 21:33

It does not seem to be going too well for JY. That makes me happy. What he is putting these poor women through.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/07/2019 21:35

I hope they get the help they need and the Canadian system takes a good hard look at itself. Who are they listening to? Some odd men with strange and nasty ideas.

Its embarrassing how hooked I am to these twitter threads!

I cannot for the life of me understand why the Canadian media is not covering this trial. Are they afraid of the reporting restriction because Elsie seems to be navigating it very well or are they afraid of not appearing woke?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/07/2019 21:44

Too scared!

Popchyk · 09/07/2019 22:01

Canada is a joke.

I saw this earlier.

globalnews.ca/news/5472316/ubc-barred-from-vancouver-pride-parade/

The University of British Columbia has been banned from the Pride Parade in Vancouver, because they once hosted a speaker who spoke about how transgender politics erodes freedom and hurts women and children. The speaker is transgender.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/07/2019 22:02

It’s like the snake eating it’s own tail.

Mitebiteatnite · 09/07/2019 22:12

This is the speaker referred to in that link from Popchyk

His name is Jenn Smith, he is a transgender identified male (his own, exact words) and refers to himself as 'he'. Jenn chooses to wear women's clothes and use a womens name, but refers to himself as 'he' because "a man cannot be a woman".

Well looky here, it can be done. I'll fucking bet he doesn't go shoving his way into women's bathrooms either.

There's a short clip from one of his talks, I'd actually like to go and see it!

Mitebiteatnite · 09/07/2019 22:13

Gah link would help...

2BthatUnnoticed · 10/07/2019 04:24

Correct - Jenn uses mens’ spaces and has never had any issues. He says it’s not safety concerns that motivate TRAs to access women’s spaces, but a desire for validation.

ahumanfemale · 10/07/2019 06:10

The more I read these tweets the worse I feel for these women and their families. This woman who is unwell herself, has a child with autism, is not fluent in English and earned $500 in a year who has to be cross-examined by JY... I'm interested to see how JY cris-examines (or "cross-examines") her husband and the dynamics there.

So far his questioning of the victim (defendant but really, the women are victims here) is about validation of himself as a martyr. Not a simple victim of discrimination, but a glorified one. I'm almost - not there yet though! - feeling bad for JY. He's obviously mentally unstable and while on some level intelligent (or brazen?) enough to work rules to get MM banned etc and file other legal complaints with a view to settling out of court, he's clearly, from his "cross-examinations" and general attitude in the tribunal not that intelligent.

I cannot see how the tribunal can rule in his favour but I hope to goodness they do. If not they've gone full Handmaids Te. In fact this entire hearing is rather Atwood - although JY's script would be more coherent if it were her fiction!

ahumanfemale · 10/07/2019 06:11

I'm SO glad a lawyer agreed to stand for these women. I'm sure there weren't many who wanted to be associated with it,

Cookieflavoredbiscuit · 10/07/2019 06:19

Going a bit off the rails here, but Jenn is also hinting at running against You-Know-Who’s erstwhile advice giver, Morgane Oger, if, uh, (for lack of of a permissible pronoun) that vile enemy of womankind should get nominated by, uh, that smirking narcissistic control freak’s party, the NDP. I imagine he could get some support from feminists.

BTW, the tweet with the threat to neighbor and her daughters has been removed from uh, Pervert-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named-Let-Alone-Deadnamed’s timeline.

Jenn Smith is a racist and a bully. Had a run in on FB. Seriously aggressive and turns on women if they’re not white. Said some fucking nasty stuff.,

JessicaWakefieldSV · 10/07/2019 07:41

I’m going to try and find the screenshots a woman I know took of our run-in. Really horrible person.

RoyalCorgi · 10/07/2019 08:33

In the JY cases, these women are using their common sense and establishing their boundaries and they're being sued for it.

This is constantly the double bind women find themselves in, even before trans activists came along and tried to erode women's boundaries further. If a man is friendly to you and (say) offers you a lift and you say no, then you're a man hater who imagines that all men are rapists. On the other hand, if you are friendly back and accept a lift, or a drink, or go to his house, or whatever it is, and then he rapes you, that's your fault because you should have had more sense than to trust a strange man.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/07/2019 08:55

So... in places where prostitution is legalised... you couldn’t turn down such a persons if they rocked up for services? Even if you really worried for your safety. Ok then. We can see who this all really protects.

Male socialization thru and thru

Absolutely.

LangCleg · 10/07/2019 09:34

This case is absurd

It's not absurd. It's vile state sanctioned abuse of women. A show trial. An opportunity for an abusive person to enact abuse of women in narcissistic theatre.

It's the most disgusting thing I've ever seen.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 10/07/2019 09:36

And this is just the start.

Datun · 10/07/2019 09:41

It's not absurd. It's vile state sanctioned abuse of women.

It is.

It doesn't matter if they throw the book at JY (I bet they don't). They are allowing this individual a global platform to abuse as many women as they like.

The laws they have enacted have led directly to this. As women predicted, over and over.

The only precedent that this will set is that any bloke can do it.
