TRAs planning a protest against A Woman's Place meeting on July 10th

The theme of the WPUK meeting is Why female sport matters, and why we must protect it. Effectively the TRAs are protesting against fairness in women's sports.

Details of their protest are below. Protesters are advised not to be violent, to carry offensive banners, or to try and physically stop the meeting from going ahead. 'This is a response, not an attack.'

Women's place UK are a transphobic hate group that work towards the rolling back of trans rights. Their meetings are recruitment drives where they peddle transphobia and their endless justifications for transphobia.

This is happening in our town. Where we live. We need to show them that we won't let hatred towards our trans brothers, sisters and everyone else stand without a response. A fun, musical, party response.

The protest itself will not be taking place at the National Gallery. That is only the meeting place due to it being a large area next to several decent transport routes. Women's Place UK don't release the venue until several hours before the event, so we will move there as soon as we know the location.

Cis allies are encouraged to attend. Allies are needed. Trans people cannot do this alone.

Some ground rules.

1. DO NOT ENGAGE WITH ANY ATTENDEES OR WOMEN'S PLACE UK MEMBERS/SPEAKERS DIRECTLY.

Stay away if you cannot keep it together. Do not directly engage, even if you are baited. If anyone does bait you and you cannot ignore them, walk away.

2. WE ARE NOT ATTEMPTING TO STOP OR INVADE THE MEETING.

This is not the goal. This is a response, not an attack.

2. THIS IS A NON VIOLENT PROTEST.

If anyone is suspected of having any violent intentions, you will be asked to leave.

3. BRING BANNERS THAT WOULDN'T UPSET YOUR MOTHER

We want this to be a family friendly protest. Please avoid swears on your banners.

4. BRING A GUITAR

Jeez, I have never encountered such a bunch of lying fantasists as TRAs. A mob of crows. A gaggle of geese. A liar of TRAs.

Assuming they haven't already done so I think the police should be sent around to Natasha Kennedy and they can give a statement on the 'credible threat of violence'. But let me guess they haven't reported it because they like to suffer in silence or they are lying. I think we know which.

So if I have this right:

1. Posie and Julia are so hateful that no reasonable person could refrain from violence on seeing them, and that would be their fault.

TRAs setting themselves up nicely to play the victim - would be good if this was picked up by the press, especially as there is zero proof that there were threats to their ‘peaceful protest’ (because it’s made up bull!). Sadly this will be touted as fact and used as proof that gender critical people are violent and transphobic bigots etc etc.

For various reasons, I have a repertoire of gluten-free, vegan, non-white sugar biscuits but I still feel that they would be urban-legended even if offered in the spirit of good faith.

I honestly think by a credible threat of violence they do actually mean someone said Posie might go (even though she won't go because it's nothing to do with her).

I wonder if shouting POSIE! in a crowded theatre would result in a stampede?

I've had multiple train delays en route to Manchester. (Signal problems, delays, speed restrictions, usual chaos.)

I blame Posie. Possibly with a soupçon of Julia but it's definitely Posie's fault.

And if I don't make it back from Manchester in time for the meeting tomorrow night that will be Posie and Julia again, nothing to do with the train companies and the fact that the timing is a little tight and I'm hoping that the venue is close to the mainline stations.

Hugely looking forward to learning a lot tomorrow. And I've admired Sharon D for decades for her steadfast dignity in claiming the medals that are her rightful due.

Hmm. I do wonder if it should be 'rumoured' that Posie and Julia are going to all the meetings from now on, not to keep protesters away, protest peacefully anyday, just to keep away the violent section that feel they would not be able to control their anger at the mere sight of a couple of women? Wouldn't want people that unstable anywhere near me tbh, so quite glad that even the mere thought of Posie and Julia seems to repel them. Mind, maybe not so much thought would go into other meetings, it might be just the fact that this ones likely to be publicized thats stopping the potential violence from the males.

I wonder too, could the venue maybe be released? Given they would have to be utterly stupid to try their usual tactics on this one, given media interest thats likely.

Oh yes!!! Release the venue today and alert the press. Maybe have them answer the phones and read the tweets and emails.

I think this is a face saving exercise because the organisers mum has grounded them for leaving crusty cereal bowls under the bed, again!
