I was stumbling around twitter when I came across this little incident, and I was intrigued because it's the first time I've seen working class lads in a twitter spat with the armies of the woke.

This young lad does a (pretty unkind) tweet about rejecting a transwoman on tinder, because they have a penis.

There is a massive pile on, and of cause they try to get him sacked. Hilariously given he plays for a local 7 aside amateur team. The "club" issue statements, which are pounced on. The guy says he's lost his job and home, which is met with glee. He's totally trolling them. Other teams in the league join in, leading the Woke on a merry dance. How can they not tell? HOW??

He then issues an "apology" where he tackles the double standards of hundreds of people attacking him for his looks, telling him to die (!!) Etc. Including, Blair White, an American transwomen and TRA.(watch White be destroyed by Magdaline Burns here:

The guy defends his sexual preferences too, and his right to hold those preferences. And I was put in mind of the James Kirkup blog today. Dommy was called a transphobe for rejecting a person based on the fact they have a penis.

The lad did apologise for initial tweet, which I'm glad. Personally I think he crossed the line, in a dick laddy fashion. But it's the moronic, rabid way he's attacked and how he deals with it that i think it's interesting. He's literally laughing at them and they can't tell. They are so young? So naive? But really mob like too.

My point was you can't expect people not to be confused if you just say "I'm on the thread"
You just need to read back to see there was a few people being confused by it.
As it's not how it's usually used.
I'd certainly never heard of it being used to alert posters to threads they're not even on!

Yeah I'm definitely confused by @ and being the socially anxious sort I think I'd rather just avoid it completely

Generally convention is that @ is only used as a bat signal to call some one who isn’t there already onto a thread. if they’re already here there’s no need to clog up their inbox, just highlight their name if you want to address them

I have email notifications turned off so it doesn’t really bother me

What happened here, as far as I can tell, is that this bloke found a woman on Tinder who he liked the look of, but lost interest when he discovered that 'she' had a penis. He was jumped on by a load of TRAs for 'transphobia', so he retaliated by taking the piss out of some of them. This is quite different from an unprovoked attack on a woman simply because he doesn't like the way she looks. Before he was attacked by TRAS, all he did was say he didn't want sex with someone with a penis. Since he's a straight bloke, this should be obvious. Accusing him of transphobia is like accusing him of homophobia for not wanting sex with another man.

So Bernard you can see how that is confusing as I've seen someone before be tagged onto a thread they weren't even on and got told along the lines of "off topic, they're not even on this thread"
Think it was called the transitioning males thread or something like that?
But it seems OK for some to do it, but seemingly only by their mates or something, you can see why people get confused lol

Sigh. Nobody needed to get confused. I politely (twice) and tersely (third time) asked one person to stop using the @ in my name on the thread because it was clogging my email inbox. They reacted rudely and aggressively and goadily. Nothing to do with anyone else. I don't care who likes or does not like the @ feature. I don't care who uses or does not use the @ feature. I would just like it if people did not use it for me when I politely ask them not to.

Anyone would think the endless banging on about it was a derailing tactic. Perish the thought!

Let's get back to Geordie Lad, who appears to know enough about the ins and outs of trans lingo to use "eggs" in his piss-taking video.

Roses I've not intended for my posts to imply nasty comments towards women are ok just because there hasn't been any physical harm done (and when I mentioned hurt feelings I wasn't referring to those of actual women).

I apologise if that's how it's come across.

My problem is that it's only perceived to be a real problem when it's the feelings of transwomen that are injured. If the same individuals and their supporters are active and vocal in their support of women and girls and tackling their oppression I might have more time for their bleatings. But I'm confident that they never have been nor ever will be. It's only a problem when it affects them.

I'm another who is new to the egg thing. The mind boggles.
