Causing a storm on Twitter...

Sharron was inventing a fictitious scenario to refute the bollocks that sex on a spectrum.

Surely no matter your views on gender, no one disagrees or is unaware that you need certain organs to conceive new life?

The core of the Genderist argument is that sex is a vague spectrum that we can't really define. 'Academics' with disproportionate influence are using that argument to push self ID.

Rachel McKinnon and Sally Hines were both given a lot of air time on the BBC to make that argument.

Sadly it is a mainstream political position to not believe biological sex is real.

That’s what all but the most insane woke people believe. All that tweet looks like is a sort of version of the “god made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve” shite. I suspect Sharron didn’t mean it that way but it’s a really crap tweet. Not sure why this misstep is being highlighted here.

Wow. Are there genuinely people who think that if you stick two vaginas or two penises together, you can create a child? I suppose that changes my views on the trans debate a little, because that is ridiculous.

Well sex is binary obviously but I don’t see how Sharron’s tweet demonstrates that.

I think that Sharon's tweet is trying to demonstrate that if, hypothetically, you had to repopulate the world again from scratch, the only way you would have any chance of doing that would be with a male and female. Anything else would be a total non starter. Because sex. Is. Binary.

I bloody love Sharon D. I particularly liked one of her lines in the Martina doc when she said- “I will not be complicit.”

Consider the light spectrum where what is being measured is frequency, with steadily increasing frequency as light moves from red to violet.

I've spent most of today on Twitter. I assume Sharron was reacting to all the nonsense spouted at her on other threads. Wokesters and TRAs insisting that transwomen are literally female, and vice versa. Tin foil hat nonsense. It would exasperate anyone. It did me.

Gender is on a spectrum not Sex , there are only two sexes. Male and Female .Sex is in no way shape or form on the end of some pretend spectrum. Stop conflating Sex with Gender. Humans are either Female or Male.
Females gestate and give birth, they need Male spermatozoa to enable this process. This is biological not some made up bullshit. It's the truth of Human biology.

I'm pretty sure the pile on doesn't phase you in the slightest but I want you to know that I think you're an absolute Legend.

God I've just seen it on a Facebook page "word to the mothers" with people slating her. These are primarily straight women and comparing her to Donald Trump! I had to write a few facts down. Preparing myself for online abuse now...!

Some of the arguments being thrown at her on Twitter are just dim.
It's not homophobic or transphobic to point out that you need a man and a woman to have a baby.
Gay men still need to use a woman if they want to father a child.
Biological sex is not a social construct or a spectrum as some TRAs have claimed.

Owen Jones has waded in against Sharon now. Nasty piece of work he is to be sure.

Umm there might be a bit of confusion Riddley because you did initially say "sex is on a spectrum"

Whatever Sharron was responding to (I've not read all her tweets), she's only stating what is true and calling out the emperor's new clothes. Go Sharron.

Almost everyone is at the ‘far ends’. People in the middle wouldn’t make babies. They wouldn’t pass on the ‘neither one thing nor the other’ chromosome. It’s not like height or intelligence where most people are near the middle.

To be honest the tweet, without context, does come across as homophobic.

Of course biological sex matters, but it also comes across as saying gay and lesbian relationships are wrong.

Owen Jones is either just not very bright, or he’s a really nasty little jerk who deliberately misrepresents others intentions. Sharon’s final 3 words are: Binary Sex Matters. It is directly related to the trans ideology, obviously. It has nothing to do with homosexuality. It is not saying being transgender is wrong. Binary Sex Matters and we know Sharon’s main issue is it matters in sports. To somehow misrepresent this tweet and compare it to homophobic ideas about sexuality is simply nonsense.

All tweets are without context. It’s a terrible way to properly communicate. Judging people’s intentions or views by single tweets is an idiotic thing to do but sadly most of the western works is doing it.

They are all deliberately misleading what she said and being really aggressive and nasty towards her. I hope she's ok I suggest she goes to bed and waits for it to pass.
