What a ninny he seems, on the basis of what looks like 48 hours of continuous arguing on Twitter with very little to show for it. One good thing, though - David Aaronovitch and David Baddiel both took him to task.

It all seemed to start with Janice Turner taking exception to the BBC talking about 'anyone with a vagina' needing to go for smear tests. Mr Clare is very free with the word and with the block function. He's produced that op ed piece from Nature that says sex is a spectrum and he's very pleased with himself about it. Pleased with himself, full stop, actually. Patronising, passive aggressive, outright rude when all else fails.

Now he's saying Got 'gender critical feminists' in my mentions saying they 'can't wait' til my 2 year old daughter is sexually assaulted. Just in case you were wondering what kind of feminism transphobes practise. Not a scintilla of evidence has been produced to back this up.

Weird how almost no men ever really understood feminism and what it means, but grasped the politics of trans ideology immediately. It's almost as if it's familiar to them.

But terfs are the kitten-kickers of the internet. Fucked-up, traumatised individuals who take their pain out on a group with less political heft than them, because they're easy targets & it feels like progress in a sexist world where retrograde steps seem to happen every day.

Just like all abusers, they then gaslight their targets, demanding proof of abuse. Terfism seems to be a core of deeply damaged individuals, hurt by a shitty system, acting out, pouring that hurt onto others, aided & abetted by opportunistic bad actors.

If you substitute TERF for some TRAs/MRAs, he's got it pretty damn right.

Backing down is hard for many men - especially from a woman. They seem to believe is shows weakness rather than maturity to admit that they've got it wrong.
He got caught out blatantly lying, which was especially stupid as the truth was right there in front of everyone.

It might not seem like it now, but hopefully he learned a little something today, the kind of lesson that can take a decade to have an effect.

Seems he doesn't mind the idea of women being punched either.
