Oh ye gods.

I have yet to meet a man who has spent money on tampons for himself.

Babdoc · 28/06/2019 13:35

I think your phone’s autocorrect has sabotaged your post, OP. It has changed “have drunk” into “have drank”, in complete disregard of grammar!

They drink, they drank, they have drunk.
My phone has a similar problem with changing “more than” to “more then”. Sigh.
That advert is pathetic - they are trying to virtue signal and earn points from the woke and hard of thinking.
Only women bleed. As in the famous song of that name!

MumofTinies · 28/06/2019 13:40

I have messeged them about this, all I got back was a twee messege about how they are trying to make the world a more inclusive place, but not inclusive for real women it would seem, you know, the ones who actually use thier products...

OvaHere · 28/06/2019 13:54

How did we get to the point where misogyny is considered a positive marketing tool for menstrual products? They deserve to go bust.

3timeslucky · 28/06/2019 14:05

FFS. I'm out of more eloquent commentary today.

The DLL (Dublin Lesbian Line) is now manned (I use the term advisedly) by "female-identifying" people. It also asterixes the word "woman" but I can't find a key to what "woman" means in their world Hmm I'm guessing here ... but if I wanted to talk to someone about some aspect or issue related to being a gay woman, top of my list would be a gay woman, but almost definitely not a heterosexual man who identifies as female.

I just bought my husband ‘man balm’ and we both instantly thought, how transphobic! We realised they should say ‘prostate owners balm’ but our daughter preferred ‘ non menstruators balm’, however I reminded her that’s what the group formerly known as post menopausal women are now called, so we’d have to suggest something else.

Meanwhile shethinx who also never use the word woman, are being told off on Instagram for not talking about trans people enough and centering them like Luna pads or something do... I mean Christ, even menstruation is now being fought over with males.

SarahTancredi · 28/06/2019 14:16

Oh ffs.

I recently bought some of their pads too.

As a maker and seller of WOMENS sanitary products, I have absolutely no problem my competitors choosing to exclude themselves from the marketplace 😂

DartmoorDoughnut · 28/06/2019 15:02

Oh no! I literally ordered some this morning ... now I’m annoyed that they have my money

Slowlygettingthehangofthings · 28/06/2019 15:05

I actually feel really quite betrayed by this! Thanks for all the solidarity.

FFS!!

Clearly that doesn't include my money then.

85Yorkshire · 28/06/2019 15:14

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 28/06/2019 15:15

DanaBarrett · 28/06/2019 15:38

Hulo · 28/06/2019 16:07

I'm following a trans man on Twitter. This is some of what he has to say about women, women's health and trans inclusion and I've heard other trans men say similar (I don't agree with everything he says, of course, but he is speaking from his own perspective):

'Don't include trans men in women's reproductive health talks. We have our own unique needs that need to be talked about in our own community with our doctors. It's not women's problems and men need to stay out of their spaces. Trans health is it's own thing.'

'Respect women by not making the conversation about you. Because you're a man. Just politely sit quietly use the service you need and get the fuck out.'

'Not gonna lie, I've seen a lot of transmen trying to invade women's spaces and it's not cool. Don't try to hijack women's reproductive health conversations. Let go of your socialization, be a man and know your place.

We may need some of the same resources but... (Cont'd)
We do not need to conversation women have to include us or even use neutral language for us.

We need doctors to understand more neutral language and we need access to certain spaces that are women's only. Respect the ladies by not making it all about you while your there.'

These organisations that have decided to erase the word 'woman', who refuse to acknowledge and name female biology as being female - just who are they speaking with? It's so illogical. Include trans women in with men - it's transphobic; don't include trans men in with women - it's transphobic

FamilyOfAliens · 28/06/2019 16:14

all I got back was a twee messege about how they are trying to make the world a more inclusive place,

So what is it about the current practice of aiming sanitary products at women that isn’t inclusive? Men don’t have periods so they don’t need to be included.

SarahTancredi · 28/06/2019 16:58

I've just sent them an email too.made sure I mentioned about excluding women so hopefully I wont get that crappy line about inclusivity.

Will report back.

Juells · 28/06/2019 17:10

The word 'women' is being removed from women's products so that people who say they are NOT women don't feel excluded Confused That's about the size of it, isn't it? Confused

JessicaWakefieldSV · 28/06/2019 17:19

Juells Yes, you summed it up perfectly

DanaBarrett · 28/06/2019 17:53

I’m on Etsy as Nana Sues Creations xx

PaleBlueMoonlight · 28/06/2019 18:13

Grr. I have found imse vimse to be the best washable panty liners of those I have tried. Can anyone suggest a good alternative (ones that don’t slip) as I need some more.

Teachermaths · 28/06/2019 18:22

That's annoying, I was just about to buy some more of their pads.
