Years ago I wrote a fuming screed to the Guardian (or possibly the Independent) complaining about an article which basically said that anyone who breastfed was an up-herself middle-class bore. They replied saying that columnist was a 'controversialist' so it was AOK.

Maybe that's their argument with LOJ. He gets the clicks, so it's worth publishing his bollocks.

I work with children and if I did anything even vaguely approaching what that tosser has done, I'd lose my job. And I'd deserve to.

I love the fact that he picks on Glinner. Also this thread has nothing to do with trans by the way Owen you no-mark.

Instead of being sarky about how some of us would even claim to be left wing, he might want to reflect on whether it is more likely that long standing left wing campaigners (many of whom protested section 28 and have a track record of sticking up for minorities) have suddenly transmogrified into bigots on this sole issue, or whether they might actually have a point which he ought to consider and engage with instead of hurling insults.
