No retrial, her plea to manslaughter accepted, and sentenced to time served.

So happy for her and her family, and such a huge step for victims of abuse.

Fantastic news.

newtlover · 07/06/2019 18:27

some good news at last

SeigneurLapindeGrantham · 07/06/2019 18:32

Marvelous, so relieved for her and her sons. Listened to a snippet of a statement from her earlier on the radio saying that there are many other women in prison who really shouldn't be there either.

LangCleg · 07/06/2019 18:48

I cried all the way through her press conference.

The part where she said that doing the Freedom Programme in prison is what opened her eyes so that she finally understood she had been coercively controlled.

Sexnotgender · 07/06/2019 18:49

Great news.

sackrifice · 07/06/2019 18:49

The Freedom Programme is fantastic.

Thank goodness she is finally free.

Topseyt · 07/06/2019 18:52

I am glad she is now free. She should never have been jailed.

It feels like some form of justice has been served, and common sense has prevailed. Finally.

OrchidFlakes · 07/06/2019 18:55

Thank you for posting. I’d missed this on the news and this is the most amazing news

ImpossibleNovelty · 07/06/2019 18:56

Just heard Harriet Wistrich on the radio news. Woman's a bloody hero.

A fantastic result for Sally and her family. Well done also to her legal team headed by Harriet Wistrich.

I'm raising a glass to your all tonight. xx

greengrower · 07/06/2019 19:11

It's great news. The Freedom Programme did wonders for me

Jux · 07/06/2019 19:33

Really really pleased. There are still a large number of women in prison for the same offence with the same sort of history. Lots of work still to be done to ensure that Justice is actually served.

veryboredtoday · 07/06/2019 19:50

Such a good result and the statement from her son explains very clearly why this was a good decision. Very dignified.

iguanadonna · 07/06/2019 20:08

Yes!!!

Littleelffriend · 07/06/2019 20:12

Amazing news

truthisarevolutionaryact · 07/06/2019 20:23

Excellent news and huge admiration for her sons and Justice for Women (Harriet Wistrich) for their campaigning and successful legal challenge. Flowers

Brilliant news!

On the subject of the Freedom Program, does anyone know if the online version is country specific? As in, can it be accessed world wide? I have a friend in America who really really needs it.

newtlover · 07/06/2019 20:47

I can't see why it wouldn't be
None of the content is country specific except for some cultural references which wouldn't be a barrier IMO

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 07/06/2019 21:06

so pleased about this

Flowers for Sally

FermatsTheorem · 07/06/2019 22:36
