Just looked through the gender and sexuality resources on the childline website and it's full of the usual word salad about magic gender essence, sex assigned at birth, feeling like a boy/girl, and expressing your gender through various stereotypes. The sexuality page does manage to describe homosexuality as same sex attraction though, so that's good (pathetic that I'm impressed by that in 2019). Also, according to their huge menu of possible sexualities, it turns out I'm not just plain ol' boring straight, I'm actually either "heteroflexible - People who think of themselves as straight but may also sometimes be attracted to people from the same sex" or "Crossed orientation - people who experience a romantic or emotional attraction that is different from their sexual attraction. For example, someone may feel emotionally attracted to girls but sexually attracted to boys." So, yay me I guess, break out the rainbow flags.
I honestly feel so sorry for children and teens growing up today. The unbelievable need to force everyone to pick a label and get in a box is so harmful. Not every single facet of our personalities needs it's own flag ffs!
