Just received this email from Standing for Women:

Good Morning,

After the huge success on "Lesbians on Chairs" we now turn our attention to our next event.

Standing For Women is pleased to announce our meeting at the House of Lords, hosted by Dr Lord Moonie entitled "First Do No Harm : The ethics of transgender healthcare."
3.30 - 5pm 15th May 2019, House of Lords Committee Room 2A.

Our talks are:

"Towards compassionate science based medicine/care for gender questioning individuals."
Richard Byng GP and Professor of primary care medicine at the University of Plymouth "Freedom to think: the need for thorough assessment in gender dysphoria"
Marcus Evans Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Member British Psychoanalytical Society and The Institute of Psychoanalysis
"Medical Harms of Gender Affirmative Therapy"
Michael K. Laidlaw, MD. Endocrinologist
"An Urgent Call to Action to Protect Young People and End Experimental Identity Medicine"
Leila Leoncavallo Kelsey Coalition consultant
"The Spread of an ideology and the targeting of children in UK schools"
Stephanie Davies-Arai Author, teacher trainer, parent coach and Founder of Transgender Trend
followed by a Q & A lead by Dr Lord Lewis Moonie

This meeting is limited to parliamentarians. Please encourage your MP to attend this meeting and ask them to RSVP to [email protected]. There are limited spaces available and so we operate on a first come, first basis.

Have a great Sunday!

Posie and Venice

Well done Posie, Venice and Lewis Moonie!

I've forwarded it on to my mp - between us we must cover every constituency, if we all did the same. A sell out event would send a powerful message.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/05/2019 10:44

Just done the same!

Interesting!

Incidentally, does anyone know why Lord Moonie’s tweets are now protected (I can guess because of abuse)? I only lurk on Twitter and used to always check out what he was talking about.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/05/2019 11:14

TRAs are in a reporting frenzy. Lots of GC twitterers have now protected their accounts.

I always liked moonies tweets.

jamrollyolly · 12/05/2019 14:00

Thanks for the info, looks great! Is there a letter or anything I could link to an email?

ChattyLion · 12/05/2019 14:16

Happy to write again to my MP about this issue. Are there links?

Importantly: is this event about adult or children’s healthcare, or both, because there are different issues involved in each.

Ereshkigal · 12/05/2019 14:43

Oh that's brilliant! Smile

Done and shared for others offline to do so also. Hope there is a good turn out. I think 11 of the 650 MPs went to a parliament debate in mental health recently, hope this gets more interest.

BoreOfWhabylon · 12/05/2019 17:43

I just said I urge my MP to attend this important meeting and then copied and pasted in the relevant bits from the email.

I know he won't go but at least I've tried

Have done-will be interesting to see how many actually turn up.

OhHolyJesus · 12/05/2019 19:02

I'm going to have a competition with myself this week - I'm going to see if I can write a letter a day to my MP, lets see I've done this one, I've got to do the one on Peter T, still chasing up the investigation into RODG. Got to reply about the climate emergency but that's another matter. I know I sound like an arse but I don't care anymore. They work for us, we can't march on every single issue within this debate, but if it comes to that I'll be in fine company...

ByGrabtharsHammarWhatASaving · 12/05/2019 22:19

Done. It's very short notice though!

ChattyLion · 13/05/2019 07:43

Bump

JessicaWakefieldSV · 13/05/2019 07:47

Will compact my MP, useless as he is

Zephbloggs · 13/05/2019 07:54

Done it. I don't suppose she'll go. You would have thought that being a female MP she'd be interested in this issue but all she ever talks about is Brexit Sad

ChattyLion · 13/05/2019 08:22

Done- just a reminder remember to put date and time of event in subject line so they can see it’s urgent. Do include your own name and home address so they know you’re a constituent. Do add in your own words why you are concerned about the issue.

I also threw in the call to push for a health and social care select committee enquiry into treatment for GNC kids, for good measure. Based on concerns highlighted in Times via NHS doctors expert in the field.

Event looks great hope it is well attended. Flowers
