Glad Gilligan is covering this.

If you have an indefensible opinion, prepare to go to gaol' from Eresh's 23.37 Twitter ref.

IMHO believing that humans can change sex is literally indefensible: can't be defended by argument as it's such bollocks, being totally untrue.

Indeed. Although we would certainly not look forward to their jailing (and would consider it the serious miscarriage of justice it would be) like these genderist zealots fantasise about ours.

teawamutu · 12/05/2019 09:28

They're really not very bright, are they? It was mimmymum who inadvertently helped prove these opinions are defensible.

Joisanofthedales · 12/05/2019 09:48

I have supported Harry the Owl. He's fighting for my right to shout out to the world my belief in biology and the right of women to maintain their boundaries. How could I not support him?

Datun · 12/05/2019 09:51

*its definition of a transgender “hate incident” as “any non-crime incident which is perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by a hostility or prejudice against a person who is transgender”

WHO is transgender??? Not BECAUSE they are?

Surely that is a missed type, somewhere. They could be an absolute bastard, and they're saying that if they're trans you can't say so.

But yes, the whole thing is a nonsense. The trans ideology is something that I do feel hostile about. So how does that work?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/05/2019 09:51

I don’t understand how the police seem to have no power when crimes (I think they are) are actually being committed - cyber stalking, threats (veiled and otherwise), campaigns of bullying and doxing, sending food deliveries to their targets home, vexatious legal challenges, etc. But call John ‘Mary’ and all hell breaks loose.

Popchyk · 12/05/2019 09:52

Sanchez Manning and Joani Walsh in the Mail on Sunday:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7018915/Businessman-launches-landmark-High-Court-battle-overhaul-official-rules-hate-crimes.html

"One of his three daughters – who is a police officer – was then told by a senior officer at Humberside that the force were continuing to monitor her father and mother’s Twitter accounts".

Police resources are being devoted to monitoring Twitter accounts (where the police has already acknowledged that no crime has been committed).

You'd certainly hope that all actual crime has been solved in Humberside if the police has time to monitor Twitter accounts.

Ereshkigal · 12/05/2019 09:55

But call John ‘Mary’ and all hell breaks loose.

Or rather Mary, "John". I don't see the cavalry galloping to protect many FTM trans people from the trauma of being disagreed with in the same way.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 12/05/2019 10:00

Too true.

Or to assume a person with a penis chasing a teenager around a car (whilst wielding a hammer) is a man and wow - hammer-person can see you in court!

I’m scared to witness any crime these days.

‘Can you describe the robber?’
‘Well, ermmmm, ‘they’ were wearing jeans and a t-shirt. ‘They’ were about 6”2. ‘They’ had a beard. ‘They’ ran down the high street screaming ‘kill the bitch’ and ‘call me ma’am’’.
‘Male or female?’
‘Hard to tell really... feeeeee-male?????’

boatyardblues · 12/05/2019 10:44

^ In that evidence-giving example above, you’d be safer saying: “the offender appeared to be male, based on height, build and other features, but they were dressed in typical female clothing so may have identified as a woman” and leave the pokice to work out how to present the facts. Mind you, the clusterfuck that was the Lisa Hauwell ‘manhunt’ appeal description suggests its not easy when language becomes some mangled and demeaned.

Ereshkigal · 12/05/2019 11:43

Yes, "a woman is on the run as a fugitive, the police say she may be dressed as a man"

Confused
LangCleg · 12/05/2019 11:57

More than four thousand good things already!

Ereshkigal · 12/05/2019 11:59

Great to hear about all those good things Lang!

CatMiaow · 12/05/2019 12:01

Can I please check, if you were on the thread about the fundraiser where someone is getting a mattress instead of legal support. @datun @genderfreelass Is this one safe. Saying no names but some of the same people are involved.

Datun · 12/05/2019 12:06

CatMiaow

As far as I know the crowd justice funding goes straight to the named individual for a specific purpose.

Not someone who can be decided willy-nilly throughout the process.

The other fund was raised by a third party for Glinner, who turned it down. It was always going to be openly speculative after that.

I'm not sure of the exact process here, but from what I understand this is a far more straightforward way of contributing.

HazzaTheOwl · 12/05/2019 12:16

Hi Everyone.

Just wanted to say thank you for your support and interest. I've written a Medium blog post if anyone wonders about my motivations in all this. It's on my Twitter feed. Hope you enjoy!

CatMiaow · 12/05/2019 12:20

Thank you for replying @datun
I didn’t realise the other one was openly speculative. I just followed glinners tweet that made out half was going to women for legal fees. I feel like a thicko.

boatyardblues · 12/05/2019 12:23

As I understand it, money raised on Crowdjustice appeals is paid directly to the law firm engaged to fight the case. The law firm is named at the top of the appeal page.

boatyardblues · 12/05/2019 12:24

Anyone else feeling sad for James Caspian at the mo? It took him ages to raise the money he needed to appeal his University’s decision. Just goes to show how far this debate has moved on.

OvaHere · 12/05/2019 12:32

Yes I thought the same about James Caspian. As you say the debate has risen to much more prominence since then but also I don't think the average person probably relates as much to academia, not matter how important his study would be.

LangCleg · 12/05/2019 12:39

You can link to Medium, Hazza! Just not direct to crowdfunding pages. Here is Harry's piece, everyone:

medium.com/harrytheowl-v-the-thought-police/me-v-the-police-whats-in-it-for-me-bb1ad61a7d6d

LangCleg · 12/05/2019 12:40

Um... James Caspian's case is ongoing. Can still provide nice things. Also safe to provide nice things as it's on the same legal nice things website.

HazzaTheOwl · 12/05/2019 12:42

Thanks for the tech help with the Medium link. I'm useless!

Ereshkigal · 12/05/2019 12:46

Can you add Miranda Yardley's case to the website, Hazza? I agree with Lang that it should be there. It's powerful, and it got thrown out by the judge.

OvaHere · 12/05/2019 12:46

Um... James Caspian's case is ongoing. Can still provide nice things. Also safe to provide nice things as it's on the same legal nice things website.

Didn't realise that Lang. Good to know, it's been a while since I did a nice thing re that case.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 12/05/2019 12:46

I am out and about at the moment, but when I get home I’ll definitely add to the good things

I’m pleased they’ve chosen crowd justice for this
