So much sympathy for this. It’s the cry of someone on the wrong end of gaslighting, who has reached the end of their tether. Yet of course those doing the gaslighting would use this feeling and call it transphobia.

I’ve sometimes thought that transphobia is a misnomer, mainly because being afraid of aggressive male bodied transactivists is not an irrational fear.

I learned a lot there. Trap? Who knew? More importantly it was kinda reassuring to read some much younger voices (that’s with all due respect and deference to the voices of wisdom and experience here) on the subject. I thought they were all sucked in tbh. But no, I have learned that there are a lot more fundamentally kind and well-intentioned young people caught up in that exercise in futility of trying to please everyone in extremist trans circles (and ending up pleasing no one) than I thought. I think these are the truly ‘woke’ kids, they know it’s all bullshit but have gone along with it, they didn’t want to hurt anyone yet they’ve been shit on anyway.
