By, now deceased, fertility practitioner.

Seems men need chaperoning in the lab too! From using their own semen...

Dutch fertility Dr, two years dec'd,left behind 49 DC who have been seeking DNA confirmation of their parentage for years, have finally had confirmation of his self fertilising of their mothers eggs!

Maybe this one

Mr Karbaat called himself "a pioneer in the field of fertilisation" when he'd used his own sperm to inseminate patients without their consent.

This is so fucked up.

Smotheroffive · 13/04/2019 01:38

I have tried clicking the second link and it worked for me?!?! Odd Confused

There's an I think Australian program on Netflix called sisters which is almost exactly the same as this. I wonder if they got the idea from this.

Whose 'they'? Do you mean the doctor got the 'idea'/of using his own sperm from a Netflix show?! Confused

OP posts:
Ginkythefangedhellpigofdoom · 13/04/2019 02:21

The makers of the program I'm not suggesting the doctor watched a tv show and thought brilliant I'm going to try that.

HoppingPavlova · 13/04/2019 02:40

There have been several cases over the years, so while not exactly common it’s not unheard of.

Smotheroffive · 13/04/2019 02:56

What show? sorry, you've lost me. I don't see where I've.made reference to a programme.

This is a man whose impregnated 49 women illegally.

It's not something I've ever heard of before!

FannyCann · 13/04/2019 04:33

It's happened before sadly. This guy seems to have gone out back to produce a fresh supply when performing artificial insemination which iirc some of the women compared to rape.

FannyCann · 13/04/2019 04:36

There were films/shows about him including "The sperminator" not sure if they were Netflix or he might have been the inspiration.

It's appalling.

Knitclubchatter · 13/04/2019 05:39

okay but your thread title...since they were going for IVF treatment they are hoping to get pregnant so not really impregnated unknowingly...maybe unknowingly by his sperm but they were there to get sperm.
IVF sperm donors can donate a lot of sperm, i hope someone will come on with the numbers but one fellow can easily have 50+ offspring as donations are on both national and international databases.

TheBullshitGoesOn · 13/04/2019 08:57

In the UK donors are limited to 10 families (could be multiple children in a family). And the primary UK centre is responsible for making sure that limit isn't breached if they make samples available to other centres. But I don't know whether there is any international coordination if a donor moves country and donates without declaring their history.

MarciaDidia · 13/04/2019 08:59

Knitclub, that's not how consent works. You consent to the use of an anonymous donor (assuming you don't have a specific donor like a partner). There is a screening process for donors and laws around what information you/they receive. The ethics have been thought through to try to make the process work for everyone. Having the doctor whom you have trusted to perform the treatment drive a coach and horses through these procedures by treating you as his own personal rented ova/uterus is an appalling betrayal. You can't just shrug it off.

Smotheroffive · 13/04/2019 14:23

Gosh, there's some mighty minimising here!

I'm really shocked. It is illegal...

Knitclubchatter · 13/04/2019 15:31

It’s actually criminal and horrible that the wrong sperm (which may not meet strict health criteria) was used.
But I wouldn’t start a thread calling it unknowingly impregnated....
My Dil used donor sperm, the donor has been “retired” so several successful pregnancies (not sure the numbers in North America) 10 seems very low. She still has 3 more vials stored so siblings could be full siblings. Which would, even if she’s the only woman doing this increase the number of children conceived by his donor sperm.

Smotheroffive · 13/04/2019 15:39

It's not the 'wrong sperm'!!

It's assuming himself as the bio father. A bio father that lacks any ethics or.morality. bull-dozing through the womens boundaries as she carries her baby, not knowing hes the father!

He's impregnated these women's ova; these poor DC having been cheated this way and all having the same father!

They have waited years to find out

OP posts:
Smotheroffive · 13/04/2019 15:42

Not sure what your dil situation is relative to?
