Does Mumsnet or any of us have a character reference as thoroughly convincing as this one? I think not.

''Breitbart readers... if someone attacked you publicly would you not alert the authorities?
I've just scrolled thru this womans page into Jan she is Brexit, smart, politcal and trans-rights she is n asset to the trans/gay community and all communities in general''

MN 's email was a longer way of saying 'potato', wasn''t it?

My mum was once sued by a serial vexatious litigator. My mum won - the litigator didn't have a case at all. But it was all v stressful at the time.

I do think it's narcissistic personality disorder. This thing that you create a fight because you have to win - and even if you don't win, you'll twist it to insist you did win.

You just have to have your antennae out for this sort of personality type and stay the fuck away from them.

As Roald Dahl said "If you meet one, treat them as a rampaging rhino and run as far away as possible or up the nearest tree" or words to that effect (from Matilda).

Of course, MNHQ have no such choice - Steph has been gunning for MN for months. Solidarity MNHQ.

'Go well' cracked me up.

BixBeiderbecke · 11/04/2019 19:58

I think it was polite for ODFOD.

I’m really lost. I think (but correct if wrong):

Hayden is a member of mumsnet (Hayden may have advised me on other forums, how exciting!)

Hayden has a grc but used to be a man. (I am not sure what Hayden’s womanliness now consists off, certainly not a pleasingly gentle demeanour.)

Hayden claims to be a lawyer. Does this mean Hayden is a solicitor? On the roll? With a practising certificate? If not how is Hayden a lawyer? Does Hayden actually claim this?

There are lots of allegations about Hayden floating around. These are generally made on kiwi farms.

Was one of the allegations also repeated on mumsnet? Is it still up on kiwi farms? Why isn’t Hayden suing kiwi farms?

What does the allegation of some kind of illegality by a mumsnet user relate to? Is it libel (in that the allegation was false)? Or are there some kinds of offences it is always illegal to reveal, for instance if committed by a young person?

I just do not see what standing Hayden has to make court applications of this type. There must be something to ground a court order - but what? Plus if an applicant like Hayden does have any history of violent offending (is this the case?) would this have been taken into account in determining whether an individual’s contact details could be supplied? Or would that only happen if the application was contested?

Did MN produce the information on time or not? Confused
Can't see a reference to it in DM link now, although it does appear that the article is being updated rather frequently and details are being changed.

2rebecca · 11/04/2019 20:09

Does Hayden really think that most Fail readers will support Hayden over Mumsnet? Hayden and Haddock need to get time consuming day jobs. What happened to Haddock's GP job? I'm a GP and don't have hours to spend tweeting nonsense and stirring up trouble. I really don't get why Haddock is so over-invested in this TRA nonsense. Most GPs have a well developed bullshit sensor. His is completely absent.

FuzzyLilac · 11/04/2019 20:10

I peeked at harrop and haydens twitter....their knickers are very twisted Grin

CheckJunkFindMale · 11/04/2019 20:10

Hayden tweeted that they didn’t provide the information in accordance with the order but I think Hayden isn’t very clear when it comes to truth. Like the “I have no current convictions” thing. If Hayden didn’t receive the email until after 4pm because Hayden didn’t check Hayden’s junk then it’s hardly MN’s fault.

GiantKitten · 11/04/2019 20:11

Hayden claims to be a lawyer. Does this mean Hayden is a solicitor? On the roll? With a practising certificate? If not how is Hayden a lawyer? Does Hayden actually claim this?

As Rollonfriday so pleasingly put it, Hayden identifies as a lawyer. Not a solicitor or a barrister but just a lawyer. (I gather anybody can call themselves a lawyer?)

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2019 20:12

Does anyone else think it incredibly inappropriate that Hayden shared the whole email - including the personal details obtained under a court order - with a newspaper journalist?

(Slightly edited, in case anyone's busy reporting the original version) - doesn't sound like best practice, but I expect the DM folk are very well aware of what they legally should and shouldn't print.

howlsmovingcastle84 · 11/04/2019 20:14

Yes, anyone can call themselves a lawyer in the UK. It's the American term. In the UK you can be a solicitor or barrister.

Bienchen · 11/04/2019 20:15

Go well indeed :)

StrangeLookingParasite · 11/04/2019 20:16

get their "website operating license" withdrawn.

Wtf is a "website operating license"?

CheckJunkFindMale · 11/04/2019 20:16

Good spot Errol I’ve reported my own post with apologies. It was unintentional, and it’s so hard to use preferred pronouns. Apologies to anyone watching.

My concern isn’t about what the DM prints - it’s more the sharing of the information with them in the first place. Inappropriate at best.

RedToothBrush · 11/04/2019 20:16

Am mildly amused by a post on a completely unrelated subject which refers to Dickens and Brexit

Agree with the Jarndyce vs Jarndyce comparison
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jarndyce_and_Jarndyce
Bleak House is Dickens’ masterpiece. He identifies and delineates the English (British) tendency towards fatal litiginous prevarication, its refusal to acknowledge reality and its effects on individuals and society, driven by a motley collection of inadequates and n’er do wells. So just like Brexit.

Its very poignant.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/04/2019 20:17

I’d have ‘lawyer’ in my username but I ran out of character space.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2019 20:17

Hayden claims to be a lawyer. Does this mean Hayden is a solicitor? On the roll? With a practising certificate? If not how is Hayden a lawyer? Does Hayden actually claim this?

Hayden has a law degree.

'Lawyer' doesn't have a protected status, but in normal use people in the U.K. would tend to assume it means solicitor or barrister. It seems similar to someone with a PhD calling themselves 'a Doctor' rather than saying 'I've got a doctorate'.

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 11/04/2019 20:17

Harrop tweets about being a married man and taking his nephew to soft play, very normal stuff.

What on earth must his husband and siblings make of his online behaviour? Especially as he has had to revoke the 'Dr' part on his twitter, as presumably the GMC has had a word.

Surely they are not egging him on, they must be bloody mortified!

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/04/2019 20:19

Steph won't realise it, of course, but Steph has scored almost as much of an own-goal with this as Harrup did with his Sky TV interview with Posie Parker.

Keep going, Steph, you're peak-transing more and more people every day.
