I don't know much about this Stephanie person but I do know that the only people who want to get MN shut down are people - usually men - who are deeply envious and jealous of women. Pretty simple really.

The amount of emails given by blushing 25 year olds who had set up throwaway emails when they were 15 and never bothered updating them such as

I used to work giving careers advice to 18-24 year olds. The number of times I had to explain that email addresses such as '[email protected]', '[email protected]', or names referencing gangs and drugs, were not helpful on a CV was astounding!

It's interesting isn't it that even though people have pretty much grown up with the internet now, they don't realise that what people say and do years ago (like "funny" email addresses) never goes away, and that if people have need they can search this person, often through name changes etc (employers now checking FB etc). In the internet age nothing goes away, and it's very easy to follow peoples life with just the most cursory of searches.

Just spent the whole morning this whole thread, and half of the Kiwifarms thread. It's a good thing I'm retired; my new leisure activities is extremely time consuming! In a good way!

Just letting you all know that I have tried to sign up using both a throw away email and proton email (after the suggestions made here) and MN have deleted any comments and blocked my email. I am unsure why, and have a feeling this email will also be blocked. If not, can @Mumsnet please clarify why this is happening to me, a mum of three? Am I not allowed anonymity in such a hostile time for women?

CH comes across as a drama queen from what I’ve seen, SH is a lot more measured.

Yes @Mumsnet - we do need to know what the situation is and what we can do to protect ourselves.

I think one of the issues forums have, is that someone obviously using a VPN/proxy, and a throwaway email..usually ends up being a troll trying to evade their permaban or something. However, I do think MN should let it slide, given current issues.

@Hirsutefirs - I'm not. I have signed up a few times with my main email account but after all the stuff with SH I decided to take the advice on this thread and get an encrypted email. They have booted me off twice with no explanation.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it ironic that SH ends up on RT (Russia Today). The same Russia Today that is funded by the Russian Government, who has a "dubious" (at best) record on LGBT rights and actively persecutes the LGBT community - Chechnya for example....

You'd think that a so called "trans activist" would have given a channel like that the proverbial finger, but that's just my opinion.

So on twitter the actual account details have been said to be... you couldn’t make this up...

So it’s all just PR? I’m confused.
