I am sure Women's Aid and its federation of refuges is well aware of the provisions of the Equality Act, which gives them the option to provide women only (ie sex based) services.
But the reality is they are choosing not to.
We have this split situation of many women activists working really hard to preserve the right to women only services, but more and more services providers just no bothered.
This is the reality. Not thinking it is lack of awareness of the law.
