McK is very like the transwoman at work. The ego and narcissism is astonishing. Not even compliance with pronouning is good enough. They want to be able to control your thoughts. You literally aren’t allowed to have a belief system of your own because ‘I can tell’. Well woop doo.

Ereshkigal · 15/03/2019 14:21

Commiserations for having to deal with that in the workplace! When will they learn that no one buys it, and they can't control people's thoughts. It sounds like they have a serious personality issue.

Bowlofbabelfish · 15/03/2019 14:38

Those infographics of McKinnon’s are like a ‘common statistical errors’ section of a textbook. Is no one challenging the very basic statistical errors they are making?

FemalePersonator · 15/03/2019 15:31

Nice. I see I have been modded for saying I've been modded.

walkingtheplank · 15/03/2019 17:02

I wonder if you'll be modded for saying that you were modded for being modded. Confused

It would be interesting to know if there were challenges given McKinnon is an academic.

I presume its not possible for anyone to challenge McKinnon on social media due to McKinnon's propensity to block anyone not fully affirming McKinnon's beliefs?

FemalePersonator · 15/03/2019 17:13

Hah, walking! I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Careful, R0wan. I was modded for speculating on something along those lines...

Roomba · 15/03/2019 17:18

My 13 year old read 1984 recently and it's now his favourite book of all time. When I was discussing the issue of trans sports participants with him last week he commented that the whole debate was 'very 1984'!

R0wantrees · 15/03/2019 17:34

Careful, R0wan. I was modded for speculating on something along those lines...

My interest & presumption is hardly uncivil! Confused

Rachel McKinnon goes on Kent radio and facilitates on air peaking, by refusing to acknowledge that transwomen were born men/male/not female.

God that is weird listening!

So loaded with weirdness, weirdest of the weird.

Whoever he is he tried to get some sense out of RM. But he still got no direct response!

It depends what you mean by that... and other side steps!

FemalePersonator · 17/03/2019 09:38

Oh,ffs. I turned it off after McKinnon first argued semantics ("women don't give birth to men") then regurgitated the "assigned at birth" nonsense.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 17/03/2019 09:39

And at about 6.30 RM slipped, said "sex" a few times "differences between sex.... massive overlap between sexes"

Or is that stepping it up?

TowelNumber42 · 17/03/2019 09:40

Peak sherpa strikes again. The interviewer was good. He was boggling but polite.

FemalePersonator · 17/03/2019 09:41

It was an own goal for two reasons: (1) Radio Kent does not have the reach the BBC does and (2) arguing semantics is going to peak a lot of listeners.

So, all in all - a win for the gender critical.

awaits deletion by MNHQ for this and the above message

FemalePersonator · 17/03/2019 09:41

Correction: awaiting deletion of the entire thread in 3, 2, 1...

CuriousaboutSamphire · 17/03/2019 09:42

It was worth listeneing to the end, RM seemed to get a tad flistere when a man refused to give up asking her to be clear, and he huffed a nd puffed a bot at RMs peistent sidestepping.

Still gave RM the last word on why the lack of trans Olympic athletes proves something though!

Happily we all know the lie behind that 'proof', pity the radio listeners didn't get to hear it too!

But I would think that RM peaked a few, "It depends on what you mean by men/women" is too much, I think!

CuriousaboutSamphire · 17/03/2019 09:43

flistere???? flustered!!!

Though I like flistere, may use it more Smile

TowelNumber42 · 17/03/2019 09:56

The interviewer tried to get Rachel to admit that men and women's sports are segregated for a reason. RMK then set about arguing that they are not. While this may be a fun thought experiment for RMK, I don't think a single person listening would have thought By gosh, she's right! Men and women are not different at all!

RMK kept saying that in law she's a woman so ner ner. I think this line could backfire badly onto the GRA. People noticing that the legal fiction creates multiple problems, might decide stopping the legal fiction is the easiest solution.

Bowlofbabelfish · 17/03/2019 10:29

Of course there aren’t any trans Olympians yet. The rules were changed in 2015? So the 2012 set was too early. The 2016 too early to let people prepare by taking hormones and declaring gender because you need a lead time and to qualify. Why is no one challenging all of these statements McKinnon makes?

2020 will be a different matter.

FemalePersonator · 17/03/2019 10:29

Yep. I think it's time to end the "legal fiction" nonsense.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 17/03/2019 10:41

Oh Bowl you are so out of date hun!

2003 is the date, 2003 didn't you hear the sainted RM sy that 2003

Of course it helps to lknow that the IOC guidelines of 2003, meant that all trans athletes were required to have reassignment surgery followed by at least two years of hormone therapy.

But that wouldn't fit RMs tale of TWAWandalwayshavebeen would it? RM doesn't want any listener to know that or that the most recent change, 2015, means that surgery will no longer be required at all!

Now female-to-male transgender athletes are eligible to take part in men’s competitions “without restriction”, whatever good that will do them. But I suspect male-to-female transgender athletes will say this sin't fair, why can't they have the same rights?

Cos the poor old male-to-female transgender athletes will need to demonstrate that their testosterone level has been below whatver made up level is in place at the time. That's an additional barier to competioton that none else has (well, no, but, oh never mind).

You know, real women have testosterones ranging from 0.3 to 3 nanomols per litre, so of course male to female wannabes athletes can have 10, oh no, that is too high, let's make it 5 nanomols per litre to be fair on them!

There you go! All up to date [patronising smile accompanied by a pat on the head, darling!]

Bowlofbabelfish · 17/03/2019 10:46

Ah! Well golly gosh that’s me told Grin

McKinnon has tenure now, CoC probably didn’t want to risk a lawsuit. I look forward to this taking the brakes off any final scraps of inhibition left and the epic tantrumming that will ensue. Roll on 2020! We have always been at war with eastAsia...

TowelNumber42 · 17/03/2019 10:46

I doubt the man on the street will hear about the lack of trans-olympians and decide men competing as women is fair.

RMK can make all kinds of half-assed arguments no avail now the issue is public. People know men are stronger than women and that's why sport is split. We see it every single day of our lives. Them fancy words won't change it.

AnotherBewilderedQuoll · 17/03/2019 10:55

Oh god the "women don't give birth to fully grown men" line was just pathetic. And the level of argument from the cyclepath never evolves past that of a brattish 6 year old. I can't with the sheer immaturity of this type of tranzactivist. They ought to be cringing at themselves.
