Thank you. Just listening now. Do you know who the woman being interviewed is?

AuntieCJ · 14/03/2019 10:38

About time. Devious person.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 14/03/2019 10:40

She says she's not aware of any complaints that were made about Challenor. Surely some people complained?

TimeLady · 14/03/2019 10:52

The first witness will be Liz Reason on behalf of the Green Party

Interesting link. Thank you.

Datun · 14/03/2019 11:02

She says that the local Pride who immediately severed ties with David Challinor may have known more about it than they did.

What else do you need to know other than he has been prosecuted for sex offences?

She doesn't look in the least bit contrite, to me.

In my opinion people didn't immediately do what they would have done in any other circumstances, because they're frightened of being called transphobic. She herself says that there have been other cases like this, and they reacted immediately. But is saying that in this instance they didn't, due to lack of info.

When Aimee, they accused them all of being transphobic, anyway.

I have no trouble believing that they felt unable to act. It doesn't make it any the less spineless.

Aimee Challenor was a trustee of Coventry Pride.

They did not 'imediately sever ties' but implemented a series of restrictions on David Challenor's involvement, including one that he had to be accompanied by a Coventry Pride representative (trustee?) at events where there were children present.

R0wantrees · 14/03/2019 11:37

(The transcripts are published at the end of each day.)

Datun · 14/03/2019 11:38

Sorry R0wantrees yes, I was paraphrasing.

They took action. More action than the Greens.

And she was saying it was because they didn't have enough information and then wondered out loud whether or not pride had more information than she had.

When, in my opinion, knowing he has been prosecuted for sexual crimes is all the information you need. Or indeed any crimes.

The lifestream kept going off, so I didn't hear a lot more.

Datun · 14/03/2019 11:40

I see Andy Hayley isn't having any of it.

I can't believe they won't be mentioning the trans issue, and how it shuts off dissent.

R0wantrees · 14/03/2019 11:56

Datun the Veritas report also failed to examine that Aimee Challenor was trustee of Coventry Pride too. That the measures implemented re accompanying David Challenor woud have meant that Aimee Challenor (who it was established 'did not understand Safeguarding) could have been the person accompanying David Challenor. THat as a trustee, Aimee would/should have either provided or being aware of whatever was disclosed to Coventry Pride.
Its a significant gap.
Trustees of charities have particular responsibiities with regards Safeguarding.

Datun · 14/03/2019 12:03

It doesn't look very robust to me. It's a good job other people know the story, and are pushing back.

caramelwaffle · 14/03/2019 12:27

I'm very close to people who are very close to all of this. They knew. They ALL knew. They colluded. I climbed at least three peaks after finding out about the court cases.

Then MN starting finding out.

The fashions have changed, but the clothes are still the same. The Emporers new clothes.

HawayMan · 14/03/2019 12:30

This stinks of Jimmy Saville! Have we learned nothing?

HawayMan · 14/03/2019 12:31

And ideally hope that Andy gets an apology. He was suspended wasn't he? Sad

Datun · 14/03/2019 12:37

caramelwaffle

Why did they collude? Was it fear? Of Aimee?

R0wantrees · 14/03/2019 12:38

Hopefully any evidence is being submitted to the Inquiry.
Those who colluded and are continuing to collude in a cover-up represent a serious Safeguarding risk

Thanks for the link.

Does anyone know what the possible outcomes are of this inquiry? Is it an information gathering exercise, or will there be recommendations - and if so, can they be enforced?

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/03/2019 12:45

Agree with Caramel from what I know though I know less.

The greens are still trying to silence people within their party who try to object to other things connected the fall out of all this. It's a witch hunt.

R0wantrees · 14/03/2019 12:47

There will inevitably be significant legisative as well as policy changes as a consequence.
Safeguarding and Child Protection frameworks are always informed by the findings of inquiries.

BeUpStanding · 14/03/2019 12:49

Cross-posted with R0! The link to iicsa answers my question.

Yes the investigation will conclude with a report and recommendations... Not sure how much 'teeth' the iicsa have though for ensuring recommendations get implemented

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/03/2019 12:49

There's a damn good reason Caroline Lucas stepped down.
