Hang on peegreen are you saying there is another predatory paedophile in the Green Party at a high level??

PeeGreen · 14/03/2019 16:32

rocketromano, if you read the link you will see that a girl said that she was molested by a very senior Green figure when she was taught by him.

This email was sent to the Green party in 2014 but they have no record of ever investigating it.

Shortly before the email was sent he became a less senior figure, but he still stood for Parliament in 2015.

He seems no longer to be active for the Greens but still a member, until his suspension today following the emergence of this email from 2014 and full investigation.

According to something I found, he is out of the UK for a very long term trip.

PeeGreen · 14/03/2019 16:34

and that's not a euphemism, he has a FB page and a Youtube channel and everything

rocketromano · 14/03/2019 16:37

Thanks pee I know who it is now.
Jeez it just gets worse and worse for the greens - however I can’t imagine it’s any different for the other parties tbh Angry

PeeGreen · 14/03/2019 16:40

Well David Steel stood up yesterday and said he knew that Cyril Smith was a nonce but didn't care because it was before he joined the party. And nominated him for a knighthood.

There was also a quote from a previous Tory chief whip about how it was their job to rescue MPs from scandals 'involving small boys'.

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/03/2019 16:43

Fucking hell. Every level.

Boris can fuck off.

MillytantForceit · 14/03/2019 16:51

Wife half his age...

Both (presumably ex) teachers.

MillytantForceit · 14/03/2019 16:56

See also Peter Morrison, Thatcher's bag carrier. She knew.

Such information was kept by the whips as a means of leverage over MPs voting. No concern for any victims.

sackrifice · 14/03/2019 16:58

This email was sent 17 December 2014..."this predates our disciplinary system''

What? How can they not have had a disciplinary procedure? in 2014?

MillytantForceit · 14/03/2019 17:00

The Greens were always hippy-dippy and hostile to the very idea of structures of accountability. Let's all hold hands in a circle and go Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/03/2019 17:10

I rather expect they wish they'd paid more attention to proper procedure now.

PhrixPhrox · 14/03/2019 18:01

GC voices in the GPEW are crushed immediately with the usual calls of 'bigot', 'transphobe' etc. I've seen some of the forum posts and the bullying is outrageously vile and completely blatant, from both men and women.

Misogyny is alive and well in the GP.

The GC voices there need our support as much as possible as this is the only way that they can make progress against the rabid trans-activism that they face.

AimeeChallenorsNirtyDappy · 14/03/2019 18:05

I think it is important not to lose focus regarding any attempts to cover up the abuse of David Challenor by some key members of the Green Party at the time who have now been dismissed, and the wider Green Party members who tried to act but were ignored.

There were literally hundreds of complaints against AC at the time, and whom was currently not even suspended, for bringing the Party into disrepute but apparently very few of these were processed.

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/03/2019 18:23

Is this a naive suggestion but can people who know more about this appalling covering up and denial of knowledge email the independent inquiry?

Watching the proceedings today, it was clear that emails and letters were being carefully kept, every i dotted and t crossed. Sunlight?

truthisarevolutionaryact · 14/03/2019 19:20

And finally the Lib Dems are creaking into action to suspend David Steel for failing to take action against Cyril Smith after his admissions that he knew about the abuse he inflicted on children.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 14/03/2019 19:23

Funny how abusive men find such a comfortable home in politics and the civil service isn't it. It's almost as if they find their 'family' there. Confused

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/03/2019 20:31

Bbc report on the saviour content of today's inquiry:

Savile: Knighthood committee 'told about abuse in 1998' www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47576543

NeurotrashWarrior · 14/03/2019 20:31

*savile fucking auto correct

HawayMan · 14/03/2019 20:45

How long will this inquiry last?

RedToothBrush · 14/03/2019 23:09

Steel.

That's the reputation of the LDs gone forever.

How do they shake this off?

LangCleg · 14/03/2019 23:17

How long will this inquiry last?

The remit is so broad and child abuse so widespread, forever, probably.

littlbrowndog · 14/03/2019 23:30

So reading that article David Steele knew children were being abused and did fuck all

Fuck all.
Fuck all

RedToothBrush · 14/03/2019 23:36

The inquiry was poorly set up. By one Theresa May.

I expect it to rumble on and ultimately collapse under its own weight and achieve the sum total of nothing.

Persifleur · 15/03/2019 02:30

Not defending Steel at all, but casting my mind back to the time in question the police were still held, in many quarters, in higher regard than they are now. Corporal punishment at a level we now find shocking was commonplace. As a child of the manse, Steel may well have concluded that if the police were taking no action there wasn't much to it.

Steel has a lot to answer for. The police have even more.
