Hannah Mouncey and the case of the missing broken leg

Someone on twitter asserted that there was no evidence that Hannah Mouncey had ever broken a woman's leg.

I googled but couldn't find anything apart from a mumsnet thread and a kiwifarm thread.

and from the mumsnet thread the article is quoted: "one [female] player broke her leg in a tangle of legs with Mouncey."

The article is now behind a paywall and I'm a procastinating curious bugger so took out a week subscription for a dollar to see it at source, except, it's no longer there. There isn't a reference to Hannah Mouncey breaking anyone's leg any more.

I might just be interneting ineptly, so if anyone can find any links to the broken leg, please share!

Sorry, should’ve said (key piece of information!) - it was a comment under the sky news piece saying what’s your evidence that Hannah broke someone’s leg.

I was just surprised that the herald sun had removed any reference to it and wondered why. It’s not a correction I don’t think, as the article doesn’t say a correction was made - it seems to have just been taken out.

They’ll have taken it out of the article because if they can’t prove it then it’s defamatory. They won’t have done a correction because the correction would have to repeat the libel in order for it to make any sense.

If I recall correctly the original article about it in Canberra was pulled because pointing out an injury that had occurred by putting a male in a woman's match was transphobic and prejudicial to HM's campaign to ruin women's AFL.

Just adding here hypothetically that any man who calls himself a lesbian shows absolutely no respect for women's boundaries or spaces. And can fuck off.

terfsandwich I suspected it was due to this prevailing culture of not allowing inconvenient facts stand but I wasn't following this issue so had no background knowledge.

Ewe I think I read that in The Other Place (reddit gender critical) . You might have more luck doing an advanced search there. Or it may have been in a piece by Gallus Mag.

HM appears to have stopped playing Aussie Rules. They have gone back to playing handball. Having played for the men's national team they now compete for Australia in the women's national team.
