Runs Forth Valley Rape Crisis.
Spoke about the need to focus on BAME women video about said organisation, despite the fact that the number of white migrant women living locally is higher. Never mentioned their needs once. (Even though for instance these migrant women may have English language problems and may not have recourse to public funds as migrant women making it harder for them to access services). Rest of video was about needs of service users who identify as trans whose numbers are even more minute. Those women who make up the vast majority of service users, the about 95% or so who are white British or Irish did not feature at all.
When I was in Bradford, I totally got why such a focus is needed there - about one in three women there is from a BAME background and they are underserved for a number of reasons and underrepresented in all aspects of public life.
