Has she seen her fan club here Grin

EweSurname · 05/03/2019 14:32

She is amazing for standing up for women and girls when everyone else is too cowered to do so.

A huge thank you to Joan! Star

(And maybe ask how we can encourage others to speak up!)

WaddIelikeapenguin · 05/03/2019 14:59

Oh wow! Thank you Joan Star

SciFiScream · 05/03/2019 15:08

Yes. Someone has shown her the thread. She's not a MNetter. It was a couple of days ago that she saw the thread so hasn't seen all the up to date messages.
Joan wants to do the right thing for women, girls and those who identify as trans, GNC or NB.

Fairenuff · 05/03/2019 16:23

Thank you for doing this Joan. Please spread the word throughout all the mps that anyone who makes safeguarding of women and children a priority will get my vote. I would vote for you if I could. Courage calls to courage everywhere.

Smotheroffive · 06/03/2019 03:24

Thanks SciFiscream Joan...did she RTFT?!! Awesome

OllyBJolly · 06/03/2019 07:02

We need more of her colleagues to come forward.

Smotheroffive · 06/03/2019 08:36

In that vein...MP penny Mordaunt's webchat on here..

ResistanceIsNecessary · 06/03/2019 09:12

Just written to her to say thank you. Hopefully her bravery will encourage more of them to break ranks and speak up.

SciFiScream · 22/05/2019 19:18

Joan spoke about her cards tonight and how important they were to her.

Cuntysnark · 22/05/2019 21:08

Time to send another one then.

londonmarathonhalfwaypoint · 22/05/2019 22:49

Mridul Wadhwa

BingBongSong · 28/10/2019 07:29

Mridul Wadwa (sorry, probably not spelled correctly). One of my friends linked to their promotional video, where they are taking about being a mother or something, followed much praise and hearts from my friend's followers. Same friend took me to task for sharing articles about Karen White and Jacinta Brooks.

AnyOldPrion · 28/10/2019 07:46

Thanks both!

Runs Forth Valley Rape Crisis.

Spoke about the need to focus on BAME women video about said organisation, despite the fact that the number of white migrant women living locally is higher. Never mentioned their needs once. (Even though for instance these migrant women may have English language problems and may not have recourse to public funds as migrant women making it harder for them to access services). Rest of video was about needs of service users who identify as trans whose numbers are even more minute. Those women who make up the vast majority of service users, the about 95% or so who are white British or Irish did not feature at all.

When I was in Bradford, I totally got why such a focus is needed there - about one in three women there is from a BAME background and they are underserved for a number of reasons and underrepresented in all aspects of public life.

CharlieParley · 28/10/2019 08:53

^in the video

AnyOldPrion · 28/10/2019 20:22
