"Student who lost track championship to transgender athletes speaks out"

There's an interview by Laura Ingraham here with Selina Soule who lost to two biologically male athletes in the Connecticut State Championship.

video.foxnews.com/v/6007625250001/

Laura went to the same school as Selina and cuts her off when she starts saying 'it's great that they are being true to themselves', and basically says 'this is just cheating'. She doesn't have a lot of time for Selina's attempt to be nice.

This is a different athlete in a different arena but the same thing.

www.outsports.com/2019/2/26/18241404/donald-trump-junior-trans-athletes-success-injustice

(note I previously linked to this same latter story, however MN did not like the source and has deleted the thread, so I have provided this ultra-woke LGBT source.

Their argument amounts to 'the transgender athlete only won SOME of the events, not everything, there was still room for other women to win in those events' )

I thought the interviewer was brilliant! V brave of Selina to speak out

2019StandingforWomen · 27/02/2019 14:47

We need to support these brave young women, must be so hard for them at the moment.

Callmejudith · 27/02/2019 14:53

I really hope Martina sees this. These girls are exactly the people we should all be behind.

HollowTalk · 27/02/2019 14:55

That interviewer was brilliant! So frustrated. And I hadn't thought of the scholarships that these girls will lose out on, either. "Get your parents involved" was very good advice, I thought.

dragoning · 27/02/2019 15:01

A very courageous, poised young woman. She got her point across very well indeed and is clearly no bigot. I hope that she has a lot of support.

QuietContraryMary · 27/02/2019 15:01

This was Selina's race:

www.athletic.net/result/W3iYnAgIlQSjg023H3/

As you can see she finished 8th. #1 and #2 are both biological males.

The cut-off to advance from the state to the regional championships was #6. So she otherwise would be competing and getting the attention of college athletics coaches, but has literally been denied by the two transgender competitors.

What there needs to be is a split in women's sport. In the same way that athletes missing a leg are not expected to compete in the same category as athletes missing an arm because they are physically too different, there should be an XX category and an XY category of women's sport.

Atalune · 27/02/2019 15:06

Xx xy categories are a great solution.

Men stomping alll over women’s sports. Gah!

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 27/02/2019 15:10

At this level, it's all about scholarships for college.

Who knows how many girls will be missing out on furthering their education?

O4FS · 27/02/2019 15:11

The cut-off to advance from the state to the regional championships was #6. So she otherwise would be competing and getting the attention of college athletics coaches, but has literally been denied by the two transgender competitors.

That is fucking outrageous.

Does this mean girls will miss out on college scholarships?

RagingWhoreBag · 27/02/2019 15:11

there should be an XX category and an XY category of women's sport.

There is.

It’s called men’s sport and women’s sport.

An XY category of women’s sport makes literally no sense.

frazzled1 · 27/02/2019 15:13

Brave young woman you are Selina. Totally agree it's about fairness not demonisation.

Unless of course we want more women's teams like this.....

The solution is to have paralympic categories for trans.

Paralympic movement's mission statement is to bring opportunities for impaired athletes to achieve excellence.

Atalune · 27/02/2019 15:17

Yes there have been cases of women missing scholarships already in the USA.

Welcome to our brave new stunning world huns. Where trans women post pics holding baseball bats on twitter and feign ignorance as to the message it sends.

pallisers · 27/02/2019 15:19

Does this mean girls will miss out on college scholarships?

yes. It also means she will miss out on opportunities for admission to colleges - with or without scholarship money. Highly competitive athletes are often offered a commitment by highly competitive colleges. My daughter's friend was offered a place at a college that would have otherwise been a real stretch for her because she is highly competitive in crew/rowing. If she couldn't get in front of those coaches, then this wouldn't have happened.

nauticant · 27/02/2019 15:19

There should be an "X-only" category to allow for XX and higher orders, and a "mixed" category where some Y can be included.

nauticant · 27/02/2019 15:22

Where trans women post pics holding baseball bats on twitter and feign ignorance as to the message it sends.

I thought the message was "look at my lovely stick".

As we know, "look at my lovely stick" is a popular type of selfie in the transwomen community.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 27/02/2019 15:22

Incredibly brave of her to speak out-

The impact on her and many other girls being denied opportunities in this way is huge.

I can not get my head round anyone justifying this as "fair" for the biological girls. They are being sacrificed for political correctness gone mad.

feministfairy · 27/02/2019 15:32

What a good interview - so clear about the unfairness and cheating.

All strength to Selina.

Atalune · 27/02/2019 15:33

nauticant lolz

Jaxhog · 27/02/2019 15:43

Either we have women's events for biological women or we don't. To have biological males competing in women's sport defeats the whole point of women's sport being separate.

I get that Transwomen want to BE women. I get that they think they ARE women. But they are not. Not until they can change their fundamental biology, which hormones don't do.

Since when does a minority, who are significantly phyisically stronger, get to trample all over the rights of 50% of the population? Or maybe I've just answered my own question.

WaddIelikeapenguin · 27/02/2019 15:44

Wow Selina huge respect; what a poised young woman.
Thanks for sharing that video

HalfBloodPrincess · 27/02/2019 15:49

That’s what you call a brave and stunning woman. Both of them. What a fantastic interviewer. But what a shame that Selina couldn’t actually come out and say what she actually wanted to say. I hope she doesn’t get any backlash for this.

FemalePersonator · 27/02/2019 15:52

there should be an XX category and an XY category of women's sport.

There is.

It’s called men’s sport and women’s sport.

Precisely.

FemalePersonator · 27/02/2019 15:54

Respect to the young women for speaking out about the cheating in the race they lost.
